The Funk Brothers, the famed backing studio band from Motown Records' heyday, picked up two Grammys for best compilation soundtrack album and best traditional R&B vocal performance with Chaka Khan.

They'll follow that success up with a 17-date tour in the U.S. that begins on April 3 in Washington, D.C. with four accompanying singers, Joan Osborne, Mavis Staples, Maxi Priest and Morris Day (The Time). <<<

Man, it would be great to see Kirk and OGG in person - I would for sure love that! And I'm sure I'd love The Funk Brothers too! I was just reading some of their biographies - they really got some history. And in Detroit too - my hometown!! And I absolutely love Mavis Staples!!

I searched and searched and couldn't come up with a schedule; it must be somewhere.
