I mean 10/20 years ago any story about Prince would make me all excited I remember hearing the first commercial for the Musicology tour and I screamed out But now every time I hear an announcement for a concert or a new song I'm just like whatever What does it all mean? What's wrong with a Prince fan that does that? Does it happen to you?

Especially if there is some good music, something being released or a concert.

Yep

I've only been a fan for 5 years, and no news has excited me since the release of Lotusflow3r. I think MPLSound and 20Ten have been two of his worst albums, the songs "Purple and Gold", "Cause and Effect", "Rich Friends" and "Extra Loveable" have all been terrible (imo).. and I don't care about any concert that isn't close to me. Honestly, I don't care about one that is close to me if it's gonna be a hits show with his current band..

I'm not a "hater", either... I've loved nearly everything he released up to and including N.E.W.S., and I think Musicology-Lotusflow3r have all been half-great albums, but since becoming a fan in 2007, half of Lotus & Planet Earth aside, nothing new has excited me.. I still think Prince can make great music and play great shows, but I don't think he's going to any time soon..

Ahhh... don't worry. Ups and downs are part of the trip (and life) Neither can exist without the other. If there was only up, you'd never know it was up.

Enjoy some other artists for a while, enjoy some silence, read some books. I guarantee you'll come around and your interest will be reignited. The sun can't shine all day in the same place, the moon has to take over sometimes. Actually...in equal measure.

new music still excites me. those rehearsals, i don't care about too much, i've listened to

them a few times but haven't bothered to search for a download yet. same goes for the

andy allo stuff etc.

actual album news is always the best. and altho i tend to not get as crazy fammy about

the new music once i actually hear it, it still excites me to have new prince stuff.

concert talk, interviews, leaves me cold.

News about a tasty new soundboard or something, still has the ability to warm my cockles of a Frosty morning, however, I care not a jot for most of the other monkey business. It can be interesting (to a point) to see what the wee man is up to but ultimately it bores my nads aff.

Unless it's about something from 1979-1995, being pulled from the vault or re-released, re-mastered, etc, I'm not checking. He's gotten a little too boring and predictable lately and that's NOT the Prince I became a fan of and followed all these years.

I could never predict what he was going to do next, and that intrigued me and kept me excited.

not anymore. i have met him and he is annoying. still love the music but stuff a sock in his verbally abusive mouth. Its getting to be like bad sex. you wanna put a bag over his head while he sings. just because he gets annoying. AND no i have not talked with him in 15 years and i hope never to again. thank god im out of the catering biz

his albums NO.. - they do not excite me - actually they became average since The Gold Experience.

Still a few good songs on each album... but most of it since 1995 is boring..

even his boots bores me, I am not collecting that stuff anymore.....

To hear "Shhh" or "Purple Rain" played live for the 1,000,000th time - that's not exciting for me anymore.

I am a "nostalgic fan"... his OLD stuff still excites me. I still find so much pleasure in hearing the music from the Warner Bros days.

I'm always confused by this... you think he is still exciting live, but you don't want him to keep playing the hits, yet you don't love the new music either? .. what do you want him to play live - the old hits or the new stuff?

1. I find witnessing a Prince concert to exciting. I mean beeing there... myself, live.

2. his live recordings bores me (sorry)....

3. I am not collecting bootlegs anymore, I gave my boot-collection away for almost nothing 1-2 years ago.

4. However tyhe albums, 1978 to 1995 they will never stop excite me...

well I have seen SOTT, Lovesexy, D&P; Act II, Gold Tour... in Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Holland - to name my fave Prince tours.

Back then Prince was excellent.

I would love to see Prince re-invent himself in concerts now.

But he need to make another great record first I think - and that might never happen....

I don't mind hear him play the classics, but he needs to play some new class stuff also.

The worst for me is the jazz-stuff, and all those cover songs... Prince should get rid of that, imo.

i can tell because i only watched. even the police in florida will not comment. I was helping a person cater for a P concert in florida. She was so happy to do this for someone whom she idolized.He walked into where she had every type of food.the food was beautiful. HE THREW A FIT SWORE AND SPIT ON THE FOOD then stomped out. My heart hurt for her. Maybe he has changed but it broke her heart. thats it no more. besides it was a long time ago

OMG how sad I feel for her-has to be terrible for your work not to be appreciated. Hope he's a better person now Thanks for telling the story
