Yes it does!

Prince continues to fascinate and entertain me, and for the most part my experience as a fan has been fun, new music, concerts, aftershows, meeting other Prince fans etc. I'm riding this train till the very end and thereafter. cool

Ive seen Prince 6x. He's my favorite live performer but yea, the thrill is gone a bit. Ive been seeing him since I was 18. Im 32 now. Hes still a cool mofo to see live. I love taking people who havent seen him live before. I get a thrill seeing them enjoy themselves.

My first Prince song was Lolita from 3121 (I torrented his discography). The first physical album I actually bought was Ultimate.

News? Not so much anymore. These days it's too much about legal issues, unpaid taxes, or some dingbat of questionable talent instead of his music. Or some interview where he puts on one of his personas instead of giving straight talk. The mysterious schtick and princebonics are not cute at his age and the blurbs from funkenberry have too much of a middle school vibe for my taste.

I am getting old and crotchety I guess... grandpa

What would excite me would be hearing more details from him about the inspirations for his art or even the release of an album or a concert dvd. Of course, a live show nearby would be exciting too even though I would prefer less cover songs and less stage time devoted to background singers.

I really dig a lot of his newer music and I'm kinda bummed that he doesn't talk about it in more detail or play more of it in his setlists. sad

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

oh yeah I could definitely do without the bad news and cryptic talk. I also would not travel to see him anymore like I used to before, unless he plays where I can drive and dont have to book airfare and hotel (a concert announced in advance to Paisley Park is an exception).

I get more excited now than ever.

Of course, at the moment, we're all kinds of purple crazy because he's coming to Oz, but even following the concerts in the US and Canada last year was exciting.

All my friends and family know about it now too (stupid facebook, hehe), but they're mega sweet about it. I've received texts from various people each time there's been an article about him in the paper here, offering to keep a copy for me smile

Up until 2010 I wasn't nearly as active a Prince fan - I can't explain what happened. It was just like a fire was re-ignited without any particular, discernable catalyst.

I hope the same happens for you soon wink

I mean 10/20 years ago any story about Prince would make me all excited yay! lol I remember hearing the first commercial for the Musicology tour and I screamed out lol But now every time I hear an announcement for a concert or a new song I'm just like whatever lol What does it all mean? eek What's wrong with a Prince fan that does that? lol boxed Does it happen to you?

I don't get excited, but I'm glad we get any news at all - imagine what it would mean if there were no Prince news, no tours, no albums, no new girlfriend, nothing to report... yup, that's right. I guess I'm getting to an age when pop icons from my childhood are beginning to leave us. Just think how lucky we are that there's still any news at all, nursev!

I agree with you. If there were no Prince in our lives it would make posting on this right pointless, then what would we do with those lonely empty hours???

depends on the news. if it's a new album, yes. if it's the announcement of a concert not within a 500 mile radius of me, no.

there isn't really any other kind of news these days, really.

Music? No. I’ve been let down enough times that I don’t expect anything from his albums.

But I just about died when I found out he was going to play at Madison Square Garden—and it happened again when I found out we had tickets.

Unless it's news about him coming out of the closet or being outed by someone else, Prince news doesn't excite me any more and hasn't for years. lol

You're just disappointed because he hasn't come anywhere near your state in ages. He''ll get there eventually then you'll feel the excitement all over again.

This is pretty much where I'm at, right now. He hasn't played in the midwest since fall of 2009. When he announces a concert somewhere in the middle part of the US, I'll get excited. Until then... bored

No. I'm too old for that baloney. Unless it was news of remasters, box sets, new album, concert I can attend and so on.

As for tours in foreign places, new looks, bootlegs, live performances (yawn), well you can pretty much shove all that shit up yer arse.

I went Prince mad when he was playing 21 Nights. Bought up all the stuff I'd lost over the years and went to see him a few times aswell. Never forget the feeling of having a pee listening to Prince wailing on the guitar. I was in the loo at the time. Indigo2.

We've all grown older. We've heared tons of his music. Seen him dozens of times. Have more life experience and realized there's more to life than Prince(most of us anyway.) Of course we're not going to get as excited as we did 20 years ago!

But his concerts are a different matter, theý're still good. When I hear he just might do a free concert in Paris this summer, then I'm thinking of going. Melkweg last year, now THAT was exciting!excited

I would be excited if there were any news, but it's been a very dry, boring stretch recently, and with him deciding not to release any more albums, there IS no news.

So to me, exciting news with Prince equals news of new music.

Now say that really fast, three times.

I didn't read far down enough....I just read what he did. Cant say it really surprises me. sad

I guess that may be why Manuela has such a bad attitude towards him. No telling what went on behind the scenes. Even though I don't like her, she seems like the type to not just sit by and watch some bullshiz and not say anything about it.
