Rick was so long-winded and rambling in that video, I stopped watching after about two minutes. So, I missed whatever he had to say about Prince. Doubt I missed much.

But, listen, people who are saying that Rick was a one-hit wonder are wrong! Before drugs got the best of him, Rick James put out a bunch of great funk songs. The whole "Street Songs" CD is amazing. Not to mention: You and I (one of my favorite songs ever), Mary Jane, Bustin' Out, Cold Blooded, and Dance Wit' Me.

Prince may not want to admit it, but Rick was a big influence on him (and vice-versa). Rick James may not have been a great person, but he was a great musician.

I don't care what anybody says, that video is hilarious. Always has been, since it was released in Chappelle's Season 2 box set. I've said it before, Rick should have become an actor/comedian.

In the past they kept showing that part over and over and when he chuckled it would make me crack up. Revisiting this it still does. Not the saying 'cociane is a helluva drug' but the chuckle right after. Im gonna have to pull out my Chappelle box sets this weekend to revisit the 00's.

Look, most reasonable people know that Prince ain't perfect - he's got a 30+ career, the vast majority of people aren't going to like everything about him and/or his music, and it can be interesting and entertaining to discuss our different opinions. Prince is worse? Did something far worse than Rick James who kidnapped, beat and raped women? Really? And specifically what the hell would that be? It is obvious in the video how hate filled and nasty James is. We are supposed to believe your word that Rick respected people despite the nasty homophobic rant in this video and the documented way he treated women?
