My top 10 personal favorites?
Every time I post my list, I get attacked or ridiculed because I prefer the 90s and 2000s music.
My top 10 favorites are:
I realize that won't be the same as everyone else's list, but that's my list.

I get that reaction a lot. Most people think I'm just trying to piss people off, or 'baiting' by posting these lists, but whatever.. that's my preference. I like your picks, except for 'The Hits'. "Around The World In A Day" is a very underappreciated album*, as is "Prince". "3121" and "The Gold Experience" are also favorites of mine.
*before certain people come in here and call me stupid for saying ATWIAD is underappreciated, I say that because it never gets as much love as other 80s albums like 'Dirty Mind', '1999', 'Purple Rain', 'Lovesexy', 'The Black Album' etc... and I personally think it's as good as '1999' and 'Purple Rain' and better than the other 3. ATWIAD & Batman are his two most underappreciated 80s albums. Controversy is underappreciated as well, being that some view it as a half-baked Dirty Mind, when in actuality, it's a million times better. [Edited 1/22/12 1:40am] | |

Pick whatever you want, I just never liked the track selection/sequencing on The Hits, and don't see the point in including it when you already have a lot of the albums those songs came from on your list. | |

I don't have every single album of his, and not sure if I ever will or not, maybe it will take my whole lifetime at this point. Some of his stuff I love, and others I can never get into, but my tastes change all the time and right now I like music of his I didn't take a second look at years ago. | |

OK... mine changes a lot. I don't criticise anyone fo their personal faves... so the lad who's posted a mainly newer list, all power to your elbow....

The only reason I don't have much from the 90s and 2000s is cuz 1. I can't drive (younger than 16) 2. The stores don't really carry them ( strangely the 1 they do have is Come and I just haven't got it yet.) | |

Many are out of print. You'll have to buy those albums online. Many fans hate everything post-1988, but most of my favorite albums came in the last 20 years. Some of his albums are very cheap online - I own 3 copies of Emancipation (a 3 disc set), and each one was bought for less than $5.
The Rainbow Children is a best buy exclusive (in the US, anyway); and Lotusflow3r is a Target exclusive.
The NPG Music Club exclusive music, with the exception of "One Nite Alone...", is no longer legally obtainable. | |

I can't answer that, I have such an intimate relationship with each and every Prince album that I couldn't be objective nor chose 10 among them.

It took me a while to realize this, but Lovesexy just defines why I'm a Prince fan. For someone to make such an album that makes no sense, yet comes together, is just GLAM SLAM!!!
