1. Cause Lovesexy IS THE ONE!!!! Till my day is done Hundalasiliah!!!!! smile It took me a while to realize this, but Lovesexy just defines why I'm a Prince fan. For someone to make such an album that makes no sense, yet comes together, is just GLAM SLAM!!!

2. Sign O' The Time - JUST Brilliant! It sounds out of this universe! Impeccable Piece!

3. Parade / Dream Factory - This whole era that produced Power Fantastic! Haha Just AMAZING!!!

4. The Rainbow Children - AGELESS! This stands time and becomes one with brilliance.

5. Around The World In A Day - What a Trip...A Hot Air Balloon Excellence!

6. One Nite Alone...Piano - Beautiful, heartfelt passion!

7. The Truth - JUST THE TRUTH! I love the acoustics! HE should mpre albums like this!

8. Lotusflow3r - BOOM! That's all I can say...lol

9. Batman - I've seen the future and it works! smile

10. The Gold Experience - This ain't about: This, That, What, Where, Or HOW! This is about the freaks doing everything they want to do NOW! smile

I like this list. I don't exactely agree with it, but it's nice to see others appreciate "One Nite Alone..." - at this moment, it's my favorite album. I'd also love to see more albums like "One Nite Alone..." and "The Truth" - probably because there wasn't much going on musically, Prince actually gave some of his best vocal performances and lyrics on those albums.

"Around The World In A Day" is my favorite Prince album that I never listen to, and I'm not sure why I never listen to it, but I've always thought it was one of Prince's strongest and most original albums. I don't much care for "America" or the edited version of "Pop Life" (as opposed to the extended 12" mix), though. Take out "America", and ATWIAD becomes an 8 track album, and I guess that's why I don't listen to it much - it's too short. I'd love for him to release some outtakes from that era. I don't do bootlegs, usually.

"The Rainbow Children" could easily be a classic, if not for "Deconstruction" and that annoying God voice.. I can't even understand what he's saying half the time! It really does ruin the album for me..

Another album I'm loving right now that I forgot to add to my list is "Xpectation".. I really like his instrumental music. I'd love if his next album was instrumental... but I'm probably the only one. It's a shame that most fans can't appreciate anything Prince does unless it has catchy songs, hit singles and dirty words. neutral

1999 didn't make my list at all lol

I like the album, but the title track is boring as hell, and too many songs are so damned long!

It's fun to listen to once in a blue moon, but not at the top for me. When I was a kid, I loved

the shit out of this album, but that was before Prince dropped masterpieces like SOTT and

LoveSexy down.

Even though this thread is for official albums, my absolute number one is the unofficial "Dream Factory - July 18 1986 Pressing". This has all the best parts of Sign (Except Adore of course) and some earlier Parade era material. Imagine if he had released this, All of My Dreams, Visions, Train, A Place in heaven, Last Heart and Witness 4 the Prosecution. I mean truly - wow!!!!!!

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Oops... I forgot about Crystal Ball. That would be somewhere between 10 and 20.... although I don't think of it as an album, but a compilation.

My favorite Prince album period, though, is unofficial and it's my own slightly tweaked version of Dream Factory. Pretty much identical to the July 86 configuration somebody mentioned, except for a couple additions and subtractions....

^ I like that list. Cool to see The Chocolate Invasion and Planet Earth in the top ten. I love both of them too. Also cool that you left off some of the 1980s albums, even if you left off some of my favorites (1999, ATWIAD, Batman), it's still nice to see someone appreciate his more recent (post-80s) music.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm not particularly married to any Prince era because he has great music from every part of his career (although I obviously along with many others have a thing for his '86-'88 music and his '93-'96 music just because there was so many great songs coming out of him during that time). Oh, and I actually do quite like ATWIAD and Batman, but when there are so many great albums, it's really hard not to leave something out. 1999 has never been one of my favorites which makes me quite the oddball of Prince fans.

nod 'One Nite Alone...' is one of my favorite albums! I wish he 'Officially' released it instead of just for the NPG club. SO many people need to hear something like this! It's one of the greatest vocal achievements and one that's most sincere. It's just such a beautiful concept. "Do you like it fast, or do you like it slow? I guess it's better if we make it up as we go...O by the way, tell me now; what's your name?" JUST EXCELLENT!

I also LOVE EVERYTHING on 'The Truth'! YEP! Including 'Animal Kingdom'! Haha. 'Fascination' has become one of my favorite songs by Prince. Such a JAM! JUST WORKING IT OUT! smile

The voice on 'TRC' is annoying to some, but I like it. lol. I like manipulation of vocals and all, it's all apart of the process for me. It can get too much some times though.

I STAND WITH YOU ON 'Xpectation' SO AWESOME! My girlfriend, who is not really a Prince fan can appreciate this album because its perfect Jazz fusion album. She loves Jazz, and she can admit that it's LOVE like Jazz! Haha. Many of my friends who are jazz musicians can appreciate an album like Xpectation. AS well as 'N.E.W.S.' Another one of my FAVORITES! I love when he does instrumentals! He's actually so very good at it. Some of my favorite Prince songs are instrumentals.! North, Alexa De Paris, Arboretum, Barcelona, The Sensual Ever after, Cutz, Kamasutra, Nagoya, etc..SO MANY! I You are not the only one! Haha, I'm with you! It's sad that people only can only bear him when he stays in a box. I love when he comes out with something OUT the water!

ahhh!! ALL OF THIS INSTRUMENTAL TALK..makes me want to listen to some now! NEWS HERE I COME!!! smile With a Dash of Kamastra! O YES! headbang
