Why do some say HE'S lost it in he 90's?

Look at the releases:

'93 undertaker
'94 come
'95 exodus
'95 gold
'96 emamncipation
'97 truth
'97 crystal ball
'98 nps
'99 rave
'99 vault
'00 high
'01 trc
'02 ona
(not counting black lp)

add em up--17 CDs worth.
Now, take out the filler tracks
and how much do u have left?

I figure about 2 CDs worth of material
is lame (1/4 exodus , 1/4 truth , 1/3 nps, 1/4 emancipation, 1/4 rave , 1/4 high).

That leaves 15 CDs of high-quality music
in 10 years ('93-'02).

Isn't that far beyond any artist in the 90's?

I agree I thinking He Kicked It in the 90's! Becoming a JW is another?

Out of curiosity, when did you become a fan of the music?

I think he kicked it in the 90s too...sure his 80s output will always be classic but I think many people who diss his 90s stuff just either read too many reviews or listen to other's opinions before really listening. There are MANY classics from the 90s as well as 80s. And by the way, I have been a fan since Purple Rain.

Back during Dirty Mind Album or the one before that, I Wanna Be Your Lover, Controversy and Head's music(lyrics was out there, but the music still slams).

I started in 1983--so I have followed the progression. I RARELY listen to the 80's
stuff. When I do it's from a rehearsal
or gig.

I agree one has to be an editor more so now than in the 80's but mainly that's because there's so much more music being released.
