How did you remove the text/watermark??

That's not the original form... that's with photoshop filters pushing the colors to be more saturated, and also a weird zoom filter stuck on (by the original photgrapher revisiting his work more recently). The orginal photo is much more natural and was published quite large in Rolling Stone magazine in 1987. But it had their text and grpahics over parts of it.

Spoke with a local print shop yesterday and was told that it would need to be considerably larger in order to keep it clear.

Are there bigger versions around??

If you found that issue of rolling stone and scanned it, it would probably scale up as a better image, but it would have their text and stuff on it.
