Prince releasing a party funk album?

Would you like if Prince released album with funk songs

that have vocal delivery in the style of Lady Cab Driver,Extralovable,Sticky like Glue,Last Heart

with pumpin and slappin bass lines .

Album devoided of serious messeges ,

no religion and political subjects.

Only party songs with a funk as a statement?

Yes. God, yes.

Holy fuck, yes.

Christ almighty, yes, yes, yes!

And no songs that mention record companies, recording contracts, or masters of any kind.

I would like an album like that very much.

Well you didn't read everyhing i wrote.

vocal delivery would had to be in style of songs like Lady Cab Driver or Sticky Like Glue .

How about The Black Album?

IIRC P himself called it a funk party album.

And hey it is!

New Power Soul is the first title that came to my mind. The answer is no, i would not want him to make another album like that! We have Funky, I Like Funky Music, We Live 2 Get Funky, yeah, I've heared enough of those! The same goes for his sweet soul ballads. I really don't need the umpteenth variation on Satisfied or Somewhere Here on Earth or... (name yout own). All those songs sound the same! bored

No way. It was jumpin jivey. Ol Skool Company is an awesome song regardless of how yall heathens feel. Here is beautiful. No More Candy 4 U is great rockabilly of now akin to the pasts Jack U Off.

Yall have become jaded over the years and purposefully critical just because you do not like Prince the person.

Mayte had a boob job?

BTW does anyone else think Mayte looked like a dwarf or alien?

^ Don't forget the excellent Ur Gonna C Me and Better With Time....!

Still, we could do with another funk based album to add to the roster!

I was trying to stick to the party funk vibe songs...to be honest I really wasn't feeling those two though either.

But I would also rather have a rock based release instead of a funk party based release.

Im tired of it. Especially new millenium funk.

Funk can not be forced. It just is. It just happens. You cant have a specific set plan to "make this a funk release." It becomes inauthentic. And that is the antithesis of funk.

Just let it happen. Dont force it and it will be inpsired funk.

You are tired of it, I welcome it. That's what so great about having choices, and we can all skip what we are tired of, don't like, etc.

Again, the FONK is always welcome ** to me **.

You dont want introspective moving thought provoking music of the times? Instead you just want to dance in a 'clap your hands stomp your feet grown and sexy' vibe?

Instead of some Neil Youngish material?

I guess Im turning into a Sir Nose.

^Maybe you are! And maybe I am too! I'm not listening to the P as much as I used to & thinking of getting some Neil Young albums. (I really luuvvv Heart of Gold). I agree with you that Ol School Company and No More Candy 4 U are the best tracks on MPLSound. And New Power Soul being plastic soul. But it was probably intended as a party funk cd.

Spare me with the social commentary. bored Good mf grief. We're discussing the FONK for Gawd's sake. Either you're in or you're out, looks like you're out. Leaves more room for the true funk soldiers.

I live 4 the funk

I'll die 4 the funk (lyrics from Chief Rocka, Lords Of The Underground)

Prince's falsetto, and FONK are the main things that attracted me to his music in the first place. I'm still around, still looking for it, & still receptive to it. I make no apologies.

I'll always welcome the funk when it comes to P. No I'm not looking for Neil Young when Prince releases some music. That's what Neil Young is for. I want some bass, some falsetto, funk jam. I sure do. I do listen to it all, but that's MY favorite (along with the sexy ballads). Not everyone will feel the same, nor do they have to. Quite simple. wink

The Orger who started this asked who wanted some music like Lady cab Driver, Sticky Like Glue, ExtraLoveable and I responded. Let me know when you make your own Prince does Neil Young topic so I can respond, "no". Thanks. wink
