Spare me with the social commentary. bored Good mf grief. We're discussing the FONK for Gawd's sake. Either you're in or you're out, looks like you're out. Leaves more room for the true funk soldiers.

I live 4 the funk

I'll die 4 the funk (lyrics from Chief Rocka, Lords Of The Underground)

Prince's falsetto, and FONK are the main things that attracted me to his music in the first place. I'm still around, still looking for it, & still receptive to it. I make no apologies.

I'll always welcome the funk when it comes to P. No I'm not looking for Neil Young when Prince releases some music. That's what Neil Young is for. I want some bass, some falsetto, funk jam. I sure do. I do listen to it all, but that's MY favorite (along with the sexy ballads). Not everyone will feel the same, nor do they have to. Quite simple. wink

The Orger who started this asked who wanted some music like Lady cab Driver, Sticky Like Glue, ExtraLoveable and I responded. Let me know when you make your own Prince does Neil Young topic so I can respond, "no". Thanks. wink

Why you have to push me in the deep end of the pool?

Because you're Sir Nose. You admitted that you're devoid of funk, lol and Sir Nose can't swim! He's too cool too swim! lol

Didn't mean to go so hard on ya, (hope it didn't come across that way, geez) but I'm serious about my fonk! lol

Actually there's plenty of funk tracks with social commentary...
I Don't Want Nobody to Give Me Nothing(Open up the DoorI'll Get it Myself), Chocolate City, Run Charlie Run, Don't Worry, If There's Hell Below, We're All Gonna Go.
We're among connaisseurs, right? I don't have to tell you who did those songs.
So sum deeeeep fonk from Prince as opposed to just dance tracks, yeah, that would be welcome.

I always crave for new funk, so a healthy dose of Purple Funk would be most welcome to me!

Every track would need a lot of that princely rhythm guitar though, analogue synths would have to be all over the place, the drums either played live or Linndrum (make sure to hook up those old Boss guitar effects though!), and plenty of Prince's slapbass stuff! Tracks like A Love Bizarre, Cool, Lady Cab Driver, Controversy, Movie Star, Sticky Like Glue, High Fashion.

Yeah, bring it on I say!
RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

^Maybe you are! And maybe I am too! I'm not listening to the P as much as I used to & thinking of getting some Neil Young albums. (I really luuvvv Heart of Gold). I agree with you that Ol School Company and No More Candy 4 U are the best tracks on MPLSound. And New Power Soul being plastic soul. But it was probably intended as a party funk cd.

Can you imagine New Power Soul and Neil Young in yo funk? lol

spit

woah WNPG we sunk! falloff

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I agree and wish the same thing. In the spirit of the recent tours where the music has been happy and fun, an album capturing the same vibe woud be great.

No preaching, no lessons, no religion...........just fun.

I'm enthusiastic by nature.

So, yes, I'm up for a fun funk frenzy.

Or fun and happy rocky album.

All will be welcomed by me.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.
