Maybe it's cuz it's on an album full of killer tracks, but I don't feel Mellow. It's the only song on TRC that I'll skip every time.
Sorry Calhoun...I usually feel ya!

I have grown to like it a lot more since hearing the live version on ONAL. Actually the same holds true for Other Side of the Pillow. I didn't like it on The Truth that much but live it really blossoms.

i dig this song... it's the only time on "trc" where dirty prince rears his head... i particulary like the end where he's talking about her bringing herself to joy... ... very nice track indeed... Mr. Ellis Dee-licious, the Official NPGigolo

BTW, LOVE this CD... [This message was edited Tue Feb 18 20:23:43 PST 2003 by Revolution] Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Me digs it. Me don't understand those who don't dig it. But then, me don't understand those who don't dig "1+1+1 is 3" either.
I like the fact that the drums are so up front in the mix. There___ain't___ nu_thin___to___be___a_fraid___of ... This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

It's a great vocal. At first I thought it was a bit sparse and boring. But once you appreciate the contours of the vocal it's a pleasure, and the horn section is a treat.

SensualEverafter is one of my favourite cuts of music. Mellow jumjped out at me like S.E. did when i 1st had TRC. will defin8ly be looked at in a decade as a kick ass album if it isnt already ***************************************************************************************

YES, I liked it the first time I heard it, LOVED it the second time *** Thanks for responding, y'all I'm too lazy to count up the yay's & nays but it seems kinda half & half, which I find shocking! The music is smooth, the vocal is heavenly, the lyrics are about as raunchy as we're gonna get outta him these days - I just don't see the negative... gettin' lost in the Mellow, Mellow...

Co-sign with Calhoun - great track. Must have had a few fundamentalists clenching their teeth at the end there - surprisingly sexual, but extremely satisfying for someone like me to hear!
"Wet circles around the toy, While you bring yourself to joy" - too sexy! ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

It's truly blowing my mind that such a GREAT song is getting dissed lately WTF?? I know, opinions are like assholes, blah blah blah... well, I'm an asshole who loves the shit outta this song!!! It's one of the best on TRC & one of my faves. How can anyone dislike it? Are they mad ? Have they given up on sensuality?? :O Do they just wanna piss me off??? Good NESS! What's the deal, y'all?? Who loves it & who's in the dark on the sexiness of this cut (i.e. hates it)?? I wanna get lost in the composition of you, learn the rhythm & play the only note you want me to... LAWD, people!! Where's the love for this one?? I didn't know that some ppl here dislike the song so much oh well. My fave jams from TRC are Muse-Mellow-She Loves Me 4 Me. How could somebody hates Mellow??

"where you wanna eat tonight babe, I know this dope spot
called 'oneanother'" That's such a groovy moment. I love that line and esp the way he sings/speaks it. That's one of the few times I've ever thought of Prince as sexy. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Although he's said Maceo in live versions, it's 'Macy and Common' - as in Macy Gray. They were all at an aftershow in the Hit 'n' Run Tour - Chicago, right? Am I mistaken or is it macy and Carmen as in Carmen Elecktra ??? F we az a People R not.......

I love "Mellow", but then I love TRC!
I kinda got my best mate into Prince through TRC and this track is actually his favourite on there, and he likes the other tracks too. "Mellow" is beautifully played, sexy, and tasty.

I love Mellow, but the "bring yourself to joy...wet circles around the toy" bit makes me cringe and this is just another Prince track that I can't play to my parents (or anyone else older than 40)
I can even put up with the namechecking (Macy and Common) to stay hip bit.
