The first one I ever heard was "Soft and Wet" but the one that made me realize what a talent he is as "A.U.T.O.Matic". Or basically, the whole "1999" album.

The first song I ever heard of Prince was Little Red Corvette. I was 14 and was look for music that I might like (was having a very hard time with that lol), so my mom recommended that song. At that time I had never heard of Prince (I have no idea why), so I looked it up on the net and converted to the Purple side lol. Purple Music is my drug and I'm jonesin!!!!!

Now that I think about it, it probably would have been Partyman from the Batman film, although I was only 5-7 at the time and wasn't a Prince fan for years to come.

I think it was "I Wanna Be Your Lover". I was in Jr. High and we heard it on the radio.

"Cream" is the first Prince song I remember hearing. I must have been eleven then.
"Little Red Corvette" and "Diamonds And Pearls" were the ones that got me hooked about two years later.

It is impossible for me to say with any certainty but the first Prince song that I remember hearing was "Batdance," specifically the video. I was a major Batman fan at the time and the video was in heavy rotation so I always made sure to watch it when it was playing. At the time I was eight years old so it seems very likely that I had heard Prince before that but if so none of the songs I may have heard made an impression on me.
As much as I loved "Batdance" it took me quite a few more years to become a fan, I didn't buy an album until Chaos and Disorder. After that I was hooked.

Hmm. Now that you mention it I must have heard the Batman OST first. My cousin was playing it all the time when it came out.

If you can't be nice to someone on the net, you probably ain't worth much talking to in real life either.

Probably When Doves Cry or Purple Rain when i was 10 or 11, in 1984.
I might have heard 1999 or Little Red Corvette before, but i dont really remember. Prince wasn't really that well known in the Netherlands Pre-purple Rain, i think.
What i remember is that me and my little sister where playing along with the Purple Rain-video whenever it was shown on TV... we were mimicking his guitar-soloing.. lol

I Wanna Be Your Lover, when I heard it on the radio for the first time I didn't catch the name of the singer so I thought it was a woman rather than a man singing falsetto. "Never let nasty stalkers disrespect you. They start shit, you finish it. Go down to their level, that's the only way they'll understand. You have to handle things yourself."

I Wanna Be Your Lover. Some kids were blasting it from their boombox at my brother's basketball game in 1979. I loved it at first listen.

Alphabet St., back in 1988, when I was 11. I became a fan gradually, and when I reached 13 I was already getting all his discography. The first album that was published when I was a huge fan was Diamonds And Pearls.

I was about 6 when I heard my first Prince song. It was 1999 lol. I use to jump around my living room singing that song. Good times, good times... I'm 18 now and I don't think much has changed lol

"I Wanna Be Your Lover", though at the time, I knew nothing about Prince. It took "Delerious", to turn me into a Prince fan! Whenever you say that you can't, that's when you need to be trying.
