Confessions of a middle aged mother
Hi everybody. I'm a mother of two children, middle-aged high school teacher, married. AND I'm a little attracted to Prince... now I have admitted that to myself. I feel a little embarrassed about that and I could never talk about that to anyone I know. How is that possible that a woman of my age thinks just P and his music - I even ran out of home this summer for two days - just to see his shows in my neighbour country in Europe. I was happy to leave my family and just PARTY with Prince (I even got on to the stage- and I was of course in extacy ). Tell me how I can gat my old, boring life without Prince back. I can't go on like this. I'm even afraid to talk to my shrink of this issue! I feel weird. Help.

I am older than you and I feel the same way. I listen to only Prince on my ipod and at home on my computer. My gf and I saw him in LA and we are still talking about it. She too is married with children and her hubby doesn't mind:-D
Nothing wrong with a little fantasy. PurpleLove!!! "Everybody wants to sell what's already been sold; everybody wants to tell what's already been told".

I have no idea why you would be embarassed about that. Most women I know of many different ages and ethnicities think His Royal Badness is one seriously attractive MF. Add his immense talents into the mix and I think most women would jump at the chance to get with him. |

I'm sorry, but is your life boring? Or are you simply sorry of missing something you don't already have? Personally, I don't see any harm in enjoying his energizing music. After seeing Prince on tour it took me many weeks to recover. But hey, what could you expect from a middle aged lady
There was a certain time in my life when my "inner boy" could have easily played with Prince's "inner girl" but as a woman I don't create school girl crushes anymore. I hear great music and realize, how much memories and sensuality it can raise. I truly appreciate the fact that I can still recognize my younger spirit and energy.
It's up to you, where you are aiming yours, but live your life fully and cope with the past. Listen also to another musicians and music. Use your energy to something creative.

Don't feel weird, after all, he is older than you are probably! I went past that--I took my 23 year-old son to see six Prince concerts in the past year. I didn't even know that he became a fan after seeing the Superbowl performance on-line. It must have been listening to me play the Gold Experience over and over again when he was a kid. Now, he plays Prince routinely as part of his electric guitar work-out. Yesterday, he said his Professor told him that he is also a big Prince fan as an amazing guitarist. Nothing weird about it--just enjoy the ride! It's all about the music. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Hi Middle Aged Mom...I'm one too! I have a 24 yr old and a 16 yr old, I'm married and my husband knows the deal! Prince is my special secret and he doesn't mind. I have two iPods full of Prince, collections of magazines, movies, videos and if Prince is on the television, he calls me to see him. He went with me and my girl friend to see Prince here in Atlanta, GA at the Tabernacle. I've been a loyal fan since my teens. They even know at work. Sometimes, I tell my kids..you know your real Daddy is Prince. I don't mind, he's fine, talented and it makes me happy. So there...Let's keep the Love for Prince strong! : )

My husband is just now finding out what's going on... he was cleaning in our bedroom, and he opened my wardrobe - and for his surprise found my huge, secret collection of Prince stuff: all my hidden cds, dvds, videos, books etc. My explanation was " its all there becouse I don't want you to know this all even exists!" He was then complaining about my choice of being a fan of "the most productive artist in the world". I still don't know if he minds or not. I'm too ashamed to talk about this wardrobe discovery

You're not alone in your interest in Prince. He kinds has that effect on people. Nothing is wrong with it. I've loved him & is music since I was 15 years old. The only music I want on my IPod & in my house & the car is Prince. I don't make no apologies or excuses. Prince's Sarah

Love this!!! I am 26 years old. My husband who is ten years older than me and a life long Prince fan recently introduced me to everything that I had been missing and I am totally obssessed. I feel like a sponge at the mo, just trying to take everything in. The endless music, videos, bizzare stories and facts. I have bought two books just to get up to speed on everything that is Prince and I still feel like I havent even scratched the surface. I also feel a little sad that I missed all the hysteria of the 80's. I'm dying to see him live so if anyone could point me the way to the best place to go for any info on upcoming shows. I NEED to see Prince in action!!!

I'm older than you, but I feel much same way than you - In 1980's I was teenager and didn't understand Prince's music. It was maybe too "adult" for me then. I found his music later, and now I'm trying to update all -what a huge amount of "work" to do! I never had an opportunity to see his show until this summer (he cancelled 8 TIMES here). And after having seen one show in Finland I was SOOOO in love with his music that I had to leave for Norway to see two extra shows..! So, if you are obsessed NOW, what will happen when you'll see him live?? I'm warning you that your life will never be the same again. But maybe it's worth it?

Sooooo worth it!!! my life has changed already, I cant even bare to put the radio on, which was a daily occurance as I dont want to listen to anyone else's music, it just doesn't compare. Although I am gratefull my husband shares my obssession.

I like your husband's reaction. Having Prince as object of affection means a huge collection. He probably would have been happier with you being a fan of Nirvana. Takes up less space
99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.
