I think you're confusing forgettable with forgotten. Most of the songs you've mentioned you consider forgettable, but the author of this thread meant a song that you liked that most people either don't discuss or don't listen to anymore.

And...Horny Pony...forgettable? Not to me. I love the whole D&P era including Willing and Able, Strollin, Money Don't Matter, Live4Love, etc. Not to mention the Gold Ni**a CD which had a similar sound and theme.

Same here!!

Great era, I don´t understand how a Prince fan can´t love Gett Off, Cream,

Money don´t matter..some of his best songs! Same 4 those U mentioned and I even love Push

and Daddy Pop.

Oh Daddy.. lol

Agreed !! music I love Daddy Pop, especially when he performed it on Arsenio. That is vintage Prince !

Yeah, a couple songs are ok, but on the whole the album is great. Some fans think it's too commercial but part of me misses his commercial/pop days. I love Lotusflower and Lovesexy because they're so honest and ambitious. At the same time I love D&P and 1999 because they're accessible and great party albums.

I couldn't even tell you what year Purple Rain was released let alone the name of so many forgotton songs.

Surely there's a bit of comedy in the title of this thread? wink

Lovesexy has been my fav Prince album 4 a long time and is still in/near the top 5..depends wich mood I´m in. And I really love 3121.Never really got in2 Lotusflower...but I like Mplsound.

But I totally agree with U when U talk about loving both kind of albums.

Imo that´s just what Prince is about...commercial and artistique!

Gotta Stop Messin About is an absolute lost gem! Love how raw it sounds, the sparseness and kinda new wave/punk edge it has Find myself listening to it lots and wondering why on earth it was not included on Dirty Mind?!? It could easily have been a single! Instead it was pretty much thrown away as a b-side. Why Prince why???

nod I secretly dream of making an 80's teen comedy with this song playing over the opening credits.

lol lol You're right on there.. Can see it in my head right now.... It would totally work!

Well there are many songs that are forgotten by a lot people here it seems.. lol Let's See:

Into The Light/I will..(WOW! What amazing songs...they might as well be one song! They fade perfectly and the guitar is just INSANE!

Boom (One of my favorites from Lotusflow3r..I mean it is a strange, weird, jam that just stands as one of his best IMO)

So Far, So Pleased (My Favorite from 'Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic) JUST AMAZING!

3rd Eye (Amazing lyrics and wonderful guitar!)

Silicon (I always mention this one, because the lyrics and the simple production is amazing to me)

One Nite Alone...(Gosh! This song is perfect! The whole album is flawless, and stands as one of his best! Everything is simply placed exactly where it should be...Even the controversial 'Avalanche' Haha)

Emale (Another weird song only Prince could do..YES..A bit over produced but still stands amazing!!)

Elixer (Now what before you loose yourself...Think about the genius of the lyrics and classic feeling to it...He is not saying Elixer..they are both saying..'He licks her..' AHHH!! THAT IS JUST GENIUS!

SO many songs are overlooked but I mean...Prince has released so many! Hahaha....These are the ones I have had on REPLAY for quite some time now...lol

One of my absolute favs that almost NEVER gets recognition (and when it does, it's not very popular) is 'Solo'. Seriously, this song to me is one of the most unique tracks ever recorded by Prince , he's never done ANYTHING ELSE like, before or since.

I Agree! That song gives me chills! It reminds me of something that just has a 'Slave' feeling. I mean that in the best way possible! Haha. It sounds like something a hard working slave would sing..longing for the day to be free. It is just WOW!

"Comeback" is a song I don't see mentioned around here. It has a special meaning for me.

Me too! It just stands as one of those memorable songs..Make me emotional thinking about the feeling attached to it.
