Clearly a demonstration of what's dramatically wrong with the music industry right now, because a lot of the 'talent' on the charts are now products of shows and other fame factories like these who are clearly all about good (read: financially lucrative) television, not genuinely talented musicians and performers.

Simon let him through because he was anticipating exactly this - people talking about him, following his progress, etc... I suspect that's why L.A. Reid gave Simon the look he did right at the end.

He's just doing his thing (or rather, a poor take on Prince's thing) and good luck to him.

The show itself is the real problem.

I saw this last night on TV, normally I would flick straight over but after I saw the thread on here I was curious. Have to give the young lad some props, he has alot of energy, maybe if someone can channel it for him, he might get somewhere. It reminded me abit of Janelle Monae performing "Lets go Crazy" at the BET awards, Prince didnt know whether to be amused or embarrassed for her.

On a side note, that young rapper impressed me, especially that it was his own composition, I was sure he would get thrown out for having talent...
