I just caught another performance on tmz with this dude. He is totally doing Prince in performance and clothes. It's tragic. It's not going to get better-just a second rate Prince.

I thought Siameze was great. Yes, Prince had some big hair in Grafitti Bridge but Siameze was definitely going for early-years Prince look; the vest, the jeans, and not too flashy and glossy and pristine. He had incredible energy; I've never seen anyone else do those Prince moves so well. And I reallly liked his attitude; while his performance was one of the most confident of all that I've seen from these types of shows, he was gracious after it, even when LA Reid gave him a 'no'. And didn't you notice that he doesn't actually mention Prince until backstage, commenting on the fact that Simon said he to him that he was obviously a Prince fan, Siameze saying, something along the lines that that was due to the hair and heels. This suggests that his act, even if heavily influenced, might not always be such a Prince pastiche. And lets not forget, he didn't actual do a Prince song. Smart move.

Yep, I'm gonna root for this guy. I wanna see him go all the way to the final and win (actually, I reckon its gonna be that rugby player/ coach chick; she seemed the whole package, she was great). Just imagine it, if Siameze ended up in the last few shows and Prince performs and/or is a guest judge. Yeah, I bet thats got y'all thinking. And Simon's right; it'll be fascinating to see what he does next. Will he tone down the Prince influence, or will he dare to turn it up? Who knows, maybe he's also a multi-instrumentalist and write's his own songs, or maybe he doesn't. There have been so many Jackson and Madonna wanna-be's, so, so what if there's this one lone full-on Prince wanna-be up on stage. I mean, half the time I watch these types of programmes just hoping someone covers Prince or even mentions him as an influence.

So come on guys, for now, lets give this guy a break. Ok, he might not be original, but thats not the be all and end all. For sure, to try and be original is a great aspiration but it doesn't necessarily equates to quality. I mean, a rapper that sounds like a chipmunk, now thats original, but Akon's also the biggest pile shit ever! Just like us, Siameze obviously loves prince, but unlike us, up on stage, he's able to (in my opinion of course) emulate Prince's confidence, singing and dancing. Remember, he's trying to be like Prince, not Bieber, not Gaga, but Prince. And in my book, thats no bad thing.

Some of you really need to get rid of your negativity. Stop hating on Prince, and stop hating on Prince wanna-be's, and go listen to Felix Da Housecats 'We All wanna Be Prince'.

Have some fun, for god sakes!

He is Terrible, How can you stand for that performance?

Prince has the theatrics but we're not a fans solely based on the theatrics. we love his music and his genius too.

I wouldn't have a problem with Siamaze's copycat act if he was actually a good singer or musician, but The guy is terrible.

People copy prince all the time ie...D'angelo , Lady gaga. .. but they are also decent in the craft of music as well.

He's not terrible.

Here's what I think about this Siameze character :

* Anyone who gets on a stage and does a performance of any kind gets a pat on the back from me, regardless of what they do or how they do it how how good or bad it is.

* Siameze is obviously a big Prince fan. Nothing wrong with that, Prince is a very good artist and very influential.

* So far he hasn't demonstrated much originality, but he has demonstrated admiration for a very good artist, and an ability to emulate him in some aspects very well, which shows a lot of skills. He may or may not have anything to offer in terms of originality, but no one knows yet. But he does have talent, and good taste.

* From the short time that he was there, he struck me as a pretty likeable and interesting guy. He took his criticism well, which shows a good attitude.

* If he is able to apply his skills to his own original stuff, he could be very good. I think he should tone down the Prince thing and demonstrate what he himself is all about. But it's very easy to become obsessed with Prince so if he finds that hard it's understandable, and I wouldn't blame him.

* Other people have gone on X Factor and shown a strong influence from a well known artist. Because Prince is so distinctive, it's very easy to criticise someone like Siameze as a copycat but the fact is that he's only doing what others have done in regard to other artists, and actually he does it well.

* If he does tone down the Prince thing, and goes far in the contest, it would be good.

* Compared to everyone else, he stands out. He's a bit freaky, which makes him interesting. Not a bad thing.

* He should have sung more.

* I found myself staring at his ass to the point where I'm now wondering if I'm straight or gay. Although I know I'm not black. I think. Good balls too.

Correct.

It's pretty shameful how prince fans can be so spiteful towards someone who not only shares their love of Prince, but has the balls to get on a stage and do a performance which shows that level of admiration and dedication. He makes an effort. Many artists don't.

Look at Terence TD. Why aren't people hurling abuse at him? Because he was really good? That's poor. It doesn't matter how good someone is (and whether Siameze is good or not is debateable), the point is that he is on stage and we're not. He's up there confidently doing his best while we're sitting at our keyboards in our crusty underpants while downloading porn in the background (well, some of us are).

He's different to everyone else, he's entertaining, he can dance, he can sing (although that could be improved - although I wonder how many here are judging his singing purely against Prince's vocals), and he has energy. I've seen so many people emulate Michael and it's getting a bit boring, so it's time for someone like Siameze to pop out of the woodwork.

I think what people here are doing is comparing him to Prince even more than he himself does. It's like, anyone who does the Prince thing has to either do it all and do it perfectly or they're fucked. Siameze may be a Prince fan, but at least he isn't trying to do everything like Prince, and he probably knows his limitations. There's no need for him to do everything like Prince to demonstrate talent. Bitching about his outfit and whatnot says more about one's own fixation with Prince than it does about Siameze's talent.

And don't forget that Prince has also been heavily influenced by other artists. Watch some of his guitar playing in Purple Rain (the song), you can see hints of Jimi. His dancing wouldn't be what it is without James Brown. To become a really good artist you have to take pages from the books of other great artists, and sometimes the influence is going to be really obvious, and sometimes you're going to make mistakes, and even look like a fool. That's just the way it goes. Risktakers tend to reap rewards sooner or later.

Did James Brown and Jimi fans bitch about Prince when he first came on the scene? Are they bitching now? If anyone here became successful and someone emulated you, would you bitch, or would you be glad to see someone flattering you? And what would you say to your own fans who bitched about this person emulating you?

Siameze has been around for quite some time by the looks of it, and it also looks like he's got himself a good band, he's performed a lot, and he has an act. Who knows, he could pave the way for other musicians who are heavliy influenced by Prince, and that's way overdue. At worst, he could fade away but give others the confidence to try out something similar, at best he could surprise a lot pof people with something new.

Not to mention the fact that so many musicians emulate Prince in their music. Siameze is doing the same with his performances. He doesn't need to be a multi instrumentalist or great songwriter / producer / etc, he's done enough to impress me by virtue of getting up on stage and doing his thing despite whatever has been said here and probably elsewhere. He's most likely heard it all before and shrugged it all off long ago and doesn't give a shit. Not only has he worked hard to learn the moves and develop his confidence, but he's done it almost certainly knowing what some people will say. He's way more self confident than the people who are criticising him. If anyone thinks he's terrible, why don't you get on stage with him and show him how it's done, let's see how long you last.

OK..I just watched Siameze's live video of "Satisfaction".... Can you say "The Nude Tour/1990/Tokyo/singing Kiss"?

He must have really studied that clip... from the moves to the wardrobe. And again he wasn't singing. I'll be interested to see what he does this week. Will he be original or channeling our man?

I know some orger's like him but is it because he's doing P's old routines? Y'know..stuff he doesn't do anymore?

...oh yeah..call me crazy but I LOVE eating peanut butter straight out of the jar too.

He seems like he's probably good at entertaining crowds at casinos, cruise ships and other things like that but that's about it....nothing against folks who get gigs that way either. He's entertaining in a weird train wreck way but doesn't have anywhere near the musical gift or stage presence like Prince....

This guy has a really weird Prince obsession.

On that deeprockdrive-video he is not only copying some Prince-outfit and the 'why you wanna threat me so bad-video' hair of Prince, but have you noticed the guitarplayer? he is almost exactly clothed like Prince during the RRHOF performance of 'While my guitar gently weeps'.

But, first: this guy can't really sing... second: its all very 'off' in a way, rather creepy... not even campy in a fun way, but creepy... it seems like some scene from a David Lynch-movie.. lol

Well...there's doing it, and then there's over-doing it...dude overdid it smile

That's one thing I like with Prince, he throws in the occasional spin and JB move, but you don't see him jumping around on stage like a clown...at least, not anymore biggrin

I am sorry but this is what is wrong with music today....talentless people getting a pass because they are "interesting". What happened to actually being able to, I don't know, SING!!!!!!

This guy is just plain wrong and I hope he disappears soon.

Because of their half-baked mistakes, we get ice cream, no cake; all lies, no truth; is it fair to Kill the YOUTH ~~ Party Up
