Prince sure knows how to start an awesome concert.

he opened with laydown when i saw him in december, i thought it worked well.

i think thunder would be a good opener too

I like D.M.S.R. as an opener. He did it in Paris this year, and I think he has done it several times before.

I saw him this past December, February and March and Laydown was the opener. It definitely works for making an entrance! I left each concert liking Laydown that much more.

The opener for my show in Feb was "Uptown" and I can't think of a better way to open a show in the Bay Area.

I never thought he would open with that but Laydown as the opening song at Heineken made me go frigging barmy, I think I screamed like.....a girl?

Everything from 1999 tour to The Ulitmate (Gold) Experience tour

then fortunately I was increidbly lucky to have heard some of my favourite songs as openers in the last few years....

o2 arena: 1999 (With the 'Don't worry' speech)

o2 arena: 3121 (a pounding version with the brass section of the band walking upto the stage)

Prince definately has a good knack for making an opening impact on certain shows

Any song he opens with at any Prince show you attend is going to be special.

One of the ones that sticks out for me was My Name Is Prince on the Act II tour, Mayte was lowered on a swing from the roof onto the stage wearing the chain hat and a black cloak with the gun mic to her mouth "singing" MNIP, the idea was of course to make us all think it was Prince, but then she jumped off the swing and whipped off the cloak and hat to reveal a very scantily clad Mayte while the real Prince ambled onstage from the rear.

Great opening.

Were you there at this show? I figured maybe you were there, so the personal aspect may play a part in you listing this as your fav show opener. Because it's cool and all (I LOVE that Hammond organ), but it's nothing too exciting as a show opener.

My friend and I were convinced it was Prince, then when the cloak came off we were like WTF!?!

My fave will always b Around The World In A Day.......the curtain closed its all dark the u hear"London England,i think i wanna Dance" Fuck that was cool,the way he moved around the stage....then jumps on his piano sticks his tongue out thru the tambourine...The Parade Tour was Sweet...

Never saw the Parade tour myself, but saw the opening on YT...really cool.

Best opening for me has to be Lovesexy...that was really an intro to a great show.

O man that tour was cool.....he`d go in2 Christopher Traceys Parade and Raspberry Beret with Wendy....my god...4 me the Parade Tour was when Prince did the best performances of Head....Years ago it aired on ch4 the next day Prince was on spitting image arguing with his mic stands and which stand he would rub up...some funny shit.

Prince getting out the car was good fun.....the dancing with Cat and Sheila is what eye loved...Damn Sheila was so hot back in 88...
