Sex in Prince's music

Do you think that if Prince hadn't written such sexually-driven music during the 80s he would have become as well known as a musician, artist and performer as he is today? If he had started out as a JW, would the 'sexless' Prince have become a major star?

Most know Prince did not start out as a JW. He wrote what and still writes what he wants. Let's just say, his conscience has undergone a bit more training...as most have. whip All of that was then. This is NOW.

No, he wouldn't be as big.

Mostly because MTV and Warners were actively promoting his racier songs. The would not have done the same if he had been just talented. Prince was seen as the adult alternative to MJ.

It's hard to believe but there was a time he was quite shocking. lol
