when i met my husband his hair was near on similar & he didn't wear a wig so i guess it's unlikely prince needed one?

Ummm, there's absolutely nothing special about the iPad screen. Its not any more clear than any other display. In fact, the resolution is far lower than most modern monitors/TV's so the idea it would reveal some heretofore unknown secret of Prince's 'do seems rather unlikely.

I dunno, the movie theater cinema screen has better color and resolution than blu-ray on a plasma, led, lcd, (HD) or Ipad (Ipad might be super bright though as a viewing device, brighter than it should be)

And most people saw this in the theater back in the day. Anything fake would show up even more on the big screen.

But who knows, could be some extensions hot glued in there! How can you tell? Seams?
