Y Should Eye Do That When Eye Can Do This? Ever since I heard 'Y Should Eye Do That When Eye Can Do This?' it hit me and has never let go. As if teaching class, Prince tells the newbies of samples and “interpolations” about how original work is played… with the emphasis on played! Although there is a strong electronic vibe to the track, you know Prince has the musical skills to back up the claims. The early seeds of the thought that would blossom into Musicology.
Love it or hate it? "I'm not human I'm a dove, I'm ur conscience. I am love"

One of the top 10 worst Prince tracks of all time. A complete and utter embarrassment that should be banished to the lowest, darkest plain of Hades and held there till it fizzles out of existence like the damp fart that it is.

The track's alright, but nothing great. I prefer Hypnoparadise from The Slaughterhouse. [Edited 8/2/11 6:28am]

I have always loved this! It's one of the tightest jams! His "Rap" is also very consistent and flows good! Not too many times I can say that about his rapping...Haha. The lyrics are also nicely put together! I always loved the flow of the song and structure of the song. I must admit it did have to grow on me, but it did not take long for me to enjoy it a lot. As someone said here, the Camille vocals, the humor, this is classic Prince. It's Button Therapy, Baby!

I know I stand alone with this one, because everywhere "Hypnoparadise" is discussed there is not a lot of love for it. But I actually LOVE IT! Haha...When I first heard the album, Hypnoparadise along with Golden Parachute, Peace, S&M Groove, and Silicon were the standouts. I frequently play it, and still love it. It's whack in many aspects, but it's a fun track; that guarantees a smile on my face! It's Button Therapy, Baby!

Oh yeah, I did at one point, but I burned them to CD, and I don't think I still have the digital files, unfortunately!
Can't find the CDs, but if it was one of the cuts on either of those, I probably did hear it. Can't remember it now.

Great song.... Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Slammin' track!!!!
"Everytime they copped my space down I worked it harder
Dayum! And the beat knocks me on my ass everytime...never get tired of it.
Still, though, I wish he hadn't censored the line "Until U're playing in front of 70,000 U'll never know, nigga" when he re-released it on "The Slaughterhouse." It dulls the impact of the lyric....takes the sting right out of it. Otherwise, it's a blistering smack down of a track! It makes me miss the good old "late 90s/early 2000s."
