i don't think little richards statement is negative, he was actually right about holding back a little, however i think he apprecaites prince. He said something like prince has a special gift or something like that.

Prince is one of the artists mentioned as "kicking ass beyond the call of duty" or some such thing on the liner notes of Pretty Hate Machine.

I cant remember exactly, he was being interviewd, they asked him about his album, he mentioned a track he recorded and prince wouldnt allow the sample clearance so they had to pull the track, so he said "Fuck Prine!", his producer was in the background and kinda said to Ja Rule" you cant say that about him, his a genius", but Ja Rule was like "nah f**k that guy".

Before they became mates Elton John said that Prince was a pratt.

I think the Prince / Sinead spat was more about Prince's annoyance with Steve Fargnoli that with Sinead.

Steve was smart enough to realise that Nothing Compares was a hit waiting to happen he put it right in front of Sinead the moment he took over as her manager after Prince sacked him.

I think Prince hated the fact that Steve and Sinead would make a lot of money on his back.

Prince came up to Wobble and his manager Dave, and he said to Wobble, ‘Oh man, I love your bass, hot and sticky, just how I like it.’ Wobble just looked at Dave and said ‘get this fucking little shit out of here now!’ Wobble doesn’t care, even though Prince was famous. He thought Prince was a pretentious asshole, ‘get this fucking little motherfucking shit out of here now!’ I said this on KCRW radio, and Nick went bright red, I said don’t you beep them out (starts making beeping sounds)? After that he was a bit apprehensive, he was even still Pink when I left.

That isn't what happened at all. Wobble recounted this story in his autobiography. They jammed on stage together in Minneapolis in the early 80's, and Wobble didn't know who Prince was. He thought he was Sylvester.

but why would he get pissed? He's the songwriter.He made a fortune from Sinead's recording! I wish I knew what his real problem was,regarding Sinead.

^ if i was a big super-duper famous well-respected music artist and someone did one of my songs without even paying me the courtesy or consideration to ask me if i'd like to be involved, even at a consultational level, i'd be ticked off too.

suddenly someone takes your song, does whatever they want with it, and dont even say so much as 'do you mind?'.... the height of disrespect.

over-reacting is not the way to go but if thats the way it went down then i can understand why he was peaved.

especially almost unknowns doing versions of well knowns work .. chances are it would be nearly impossible to get in touch with PRINCE to consult him anyway .. an as a almost unknown like o coner

was .. I doubt she woulda expected him to answer .....

Did prince ring up Creedence Clearwater Revival an tell them he was doing a version of proud marry in the early days..
