Translation: "I copied those stories from elsewhere." Look at where I talked about "IWTBYL" and how someone pointed out that this came from a housequake interview from Jan 2006. I bet most quotes (except for the Miller ones) can be traced back to other books, websites, articles, etcetera.

I disagree with you. I doubt that is what that means. It is true that very little new information appears in this book about Prince's first three albums, outside of some details about his Dirty Mind recording equipment. The albums that stood out to me as having the most new information about them in this book were probably Controversy, Lovesexy, Batman and Graffiti Bridge.

From reading, I would say there is new interview material from at least Sylvia Massey, Ross Pallone, Chuck Zwicky, Michael Koppelman, Eddie Miller and Matt Fink in this book, if not everyone he listed. I would say the person listed with the least new input would be Susan Rogers, though there was a quote or two from her that looked new.

BTW, it was me that pointed out where that came from. There is plenty in the book that can't be traced to other articles.

If that's the case, then it's an even bigger shame this book is such an unoriganised mess. And it's not like he hasn't had the time to fix it, this book has been announced for years.
