Was The Housequake Dance A Popular Dance

It looks like an attractive dance. I was born in 92' so I wouldn't know.

When he performs it now, do you see people jumping up and down and stomping? No!

The only thing I remember that may have caught on were the hand gestures from I Would Die 4 U. That's IT. lol

Were any of Prince's dances even meant to be taken seriously? I thought that they were all very tongue-in-cheek. I don't remember ever seeing anyone doing a Prince song at a school dance. I don't even remember any of them being played on radio.

I said what IF the dance was popular in the UK etc... They could've been doing the dance in the night clubs or something. We wouldn't know.

Riiiiiiiiiiight. lol I'm sure the UK fans don't even recall a "dance". lol It's just a song to get down to. No dance move was really "required".

These instructions come from somewhere, but I forget where exactly......

We're gonna show U what 2 do
U put your foot down on the 2
U jump up on the one
Now you're having fun
You're doing the housequake

Lol, this is so true.

The only copying I remember doing in the 80s as a teenager was trying to do the Girls and Boys dance a lot, walking around dressing like him from Mountains, with the wide brim hat(that kept on blowning off my head) and outfit, looking like a complete twat.
FUNKNROLL! dancing jig "February 2014, wow". 'dre. nod

Well, I'm 40 - so I'll back him up. No.

I would say the same amount of people were doing the Housequake as were the BatDance, or that Thieves in the Temple Dance, etc. zero.

But I don't think starting a dance craze was Prince's intention.

Come to think of it - I do remember Bono saying something publicly positive about the Housequake, so maybe he was doing it. I'll correct my earlier statement - 1 person.
