It wasn't a bigger hit b/c its annoying! It almost pains me to listen to it, nothing about it makes me smile, no part of it inspires me, its just so flat. I wish I could feel differently about it, but having to sit through it just makes me ughhh. Maybe I should give it another listen...

I think "Mountains" is just an 'okay' song.I don't think it works as a single,though.It doesn't have that "wow" factor that makes people go crazy,which is why it wasn't a Top 10 smash.There are only three obvious singles on Parade:

"Kiss","Girls & Boys" and "Anotherloverholenyohead".

I can't believe it, but you are the first person I've read that agrees with my own views about those songs. Girls and Boys, for me, is the low point on that album and Life Can Be So Nice is worth it for the first 30 seconds alone.

I wanna defend: "Girls & Boys" is funky and funny at the same time..... lyrics like "She had the cutest ass he'd ever seen, He did 2, they were meant 2 be".....

The B&W video, oh I love this too, it's an essential video to me. Prince's arm waveing, whatever it's called, the video is very stylish, a classic.
