Perhaps you should see an animal screaming for it's life when it's throat is cut, and maybe dropped in some boiling water!

Animal abuse...The choice that he took to be a vegetarian, or vegan, is all over the internet.
ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS SEARCH AND SEE THE ABUSE THAT TAKES PLACE FOR ANIMALS THAT END UP IN THE FROZEN SECTION IN YOUR STORE!
ANIMALS IN ARE TERRIBLY ABUSED. YOU JUST HAVE TO LOOK INTO WHAT IS HAPPENING, INTO YOUR SOUL, AND HOPEFULLY, YOU, WILL AGREE IT ISN'T RIGHT!

If eating vegetables stopped prince from looking old, then your saying if he ate meat he would look older than he is? My tita is a vegetarian and she and my umma are only a year apart. She looks no younger even though she has a healthier diet. Maybe it has to do with them both being asian, but I think Prince naturally looks younger than most white people because black people just look young sometimes.

It is interesting that coming from a SDA and its healthy lifestyle might shed light on his diet/health choices. I can make mean meals from spagetti to meatless loaf, all without using fake meat, animal fat, or dairy using nuts, spices, and legumes. You should know what you are doing and get a better than fair bill of health. Prince's Sarah

^^^ I wish you would share some good meatless recipes with me that actually have some flavor. I have tried many and they are so dull, dry, and heavy despite all the seasonings that I just can't eat them. How, for instance, do you do an actual juicy, tasty meatless loaf?!! All the recipes I have tried are simply awful and leave me craving the real thing... "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Much of the anti-soya, dairy industry funded, "science" has been debunked, there seems no reason that it can't be eaten in moderation no matter your sex, the isoflavones particularly seem beneficial.
There is also quite a myth regarding protein intake, you'd be surprised how easily your needs are met with various foods. Plant based foods high in protein include nuts, seeds, beans, lentils (and other legumes) while the pseudograin Quinoa has a complete amino acid profile.

Yes the male calves are rendered a useless by product of the cows being kept in perpetual pregnancy so that humans can take the milk. Killed instantly if they're lucky, kept in hideous, restricted circumstances to produce soft, tender veal if not.
The same applies to the chicken industry, in that male chicks are dispatched on hatching as they can't produce eggs. Gassed if they're lucky, but more commonly thrown alive into a grinding machine.

thank you for articulating that... combining brown rice and beans has been a key to me finding the balance. (white rice just makes me hungry). goodbye sugar cravings! add some gomasio, olive oil, greens. mmm the taste of balance -- not expensive either.
i only talk about it if asked. basically my reason is, i feel better when i can live a lovely day without having had to kill an animal. next i'd like to only eat plants that arent killed by harvesting them, like those poor beheaded lettuces... would also love to be a breatharian some day...
me think eating animal flesh is not the wisest or most compassionate way to obtain nutrition. maybe one of the easiest, requiring the least discernment, though. and yes, in some cases the only food in sight. but as long as i have a choice, i choose to relearn how to combine simple whole foods to provide complete nutrition. there are many ways to do anything, and only some of them work well -- so please read a book or something or ask a longtime vegan about how to do it right. it's an art.
that vegan diet is probably part of prince's glowing appearance. as hardworking as he is, i think he also gets adequate rest. i think his reasons were articulated on the inside of that raveun2thejoyfantastic record

cool. sounds like Mayte was his main reason for going vegan. Has she always been vegan? If so, there's another convincing reason, as far as appearances and auras go... flowing through the veins of the tree of life...purplemaplesyrup

I agree. Even though I eat meat, I acknowledge that it has an aging effect. It's important for vegetarians to exercise and remain strong, supplement protein, because as you said, weight can be lost.

I'm a vegetarian. Have been since the age of 19. I'm now 33. A few things to keep in mind:

Speaking as a vegetarian for some 17 years I can say that since I changed I have very rarely been sixk or ill from food poisioning etc. In the 17 yrs I think I was ill once I normally just get the odd cold or cough. As regards to converting people I have never tried to do this but I have met very few people who just accept I am a veggie without making some comment or remark about how great meat is. One thing i hate though is people claiming to be a vegetarian and not being one. Anyone who eats fish, white meat, red meat is a carnivore to me and NOT vegetarian.

I dont think we are omnivorous by nature as we are not designed to either kill an animal or eat it without tools. Compare us to a dog or a cat or a bear who are built for catching their prey then killing it and eating it raw. Meat eaters have it nicely packaged with the fat trimmed off and cooked till all the bacteria etc is dead then flavoured and garnished, not exaclty natural!

people should eat more veggies & much less meat but to go without meat cannot be natural or healthy? it wasn't that long ago that prince looked malnourished, skinny, emaciated & ill.. someone even said he was like a corpse. (coffin pic comes to mind) i blame his vegetarian diet, whatever he was eating was not working, but look at him recently! WOW! he looks all buffed out, hench ... he's jumping about, looks happy & got loads of energy! he must be bingeing out on protein shakes, maybe tucking in2 steak or steroids? a few beans & nuts alone won't produce those results... he could be an genuine ice road trucker with his new brawn

No. You realize there are plenty of vegan bodybuilders out there? And they aren't using steroids, and they aren't at a competitive disadvantage, many of them regularly defeat their meat-eating counterparts in competition.
The notion that being vegetarian or vegan means you must be malnourished or emaciated or too thin or any of that shit, is a complete MYTH.
dirtymalcs - I have had the same experience. Prior to becoming vegetarian, I'd get colds/sicknesses 2 or 3 times a year at least. These days, it's rare. I got one cold in 2010 that only lasted a few days. I didn't get sick ONCE in 2009 despite travelling a lot and being under the most stress I've ever faced.
The reason for this is because eating meat weakens the human immune system. This is largely due to the antibiotics injected into the animals, and the fact that the more meat you eat, the more uric acid is produced in order to digest it, which weakens your kidneys and provides a perfect ecosystem for bacteria (which thrive in acidic environments).
The one time I got a cold in 2010, it went all around my family. The vegetarians in my family were able to fight it off completely in 2-3 days. The meat eaters were out of action for an entire week or longer. |

Exactly...and I am one of those vegan bodybuilders (amateur and slim)...and what's more I'm a raw foodist also (to freak some out) for about 1 year now...oh, and I fast...feel better than when I was 20, for real...testosterone is at a high level...no aches or pains... The orgers are a well informed bunch and know to stay away from soy...but guys (males) did you know flaxseed /oil is even higher than soy for estrogenic activity? In your 30's your body changes, gross food has less meaning for me, concentrated nutrients are the way to go.
I'm sure I read on here recently that Prince had a burger with someone, didn't sound like a vegeburger either.

Rape of human females by human males and murder of rival human beings are natural behaviors as well, should we legalize them?
On the other hand using a heater or a car is highly unnatural, would u be ready to give up these tools?
The only acceptable argument against vegetarism is personal ethics, i.e. "my pleasure at eating meat is more important to me than the death and suffering of the creatures i eat". I can accept that because everybody is free to believe in his/her own ethical values system, but the "natural" thing makes no sense when human beings already have given up so many "natural" behaviors. I think you have to be careful about your diet-loads of people who become vegetarian put on weight coz they end up eatting dairy-piecies of meat are actually relativelynlow in fat. It is meat related products that are fatty-loke pies. If you eat meat properly it is probably calorifically better and higher in protein. I went vegetarian for 11mths once and put on a stone-u really need to plan it
