Kiss inspiration Awhile ago, someone posted a link to a song that was apparently the inspiration that Prince used when he wrote Kiss. The song sounded as though it was from the late 60's, and sounded ERRILY familiar to Kiss.
Anyone recall that song or that link? The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else!

Great song to get inspiration from. And what he did with the inspiration was even better! "Free URself, B the best that U can B, 3rd Apartment from the Sun, nothing left to fear" Prince Rogers Nelson - Forever in my Life -

The guitar break was obviously inspired by "Papa's Got A Brand New Bag".

I believe that 'kiss' was 'produced' - not composed, but 'produced' to sound like 'I want to break free' by Queen. Anybody with a half a musical brain can hear the similarities. The hi-hat pattern. The dry drum track. The chord progression. And the break before each verse. I'm no fan of queen but I'm guessing the dude who produced kiss before prince took it back was. Check it out. I've never heard this comparison before but I personally think it's very obvious. You'll never know a girl called Nikki and you'll never find Erotic City
