Not quite what I was getting at. At that point 3121 had been announced and the promo campagin was in motion. If you're privy to stuff going on behind the scenes, why haven't you once been able to give us advance word on something that's actually happened?

Indeed...just like when Bellerophon got the info last April about the 2010 album, all they got was shat on by members of this board.But the inside info was spot on......

It was rumored on a thread on prince .org http://prince.org/msg/7/3...?&pg=1 that he was to release an album in June....so i Emailed the administrator of The Orange Park http://www.prince-web.de/ ... and this is what he sent me....


He will be touring Europe to promote this album this summer/autumn.


* Main CD sleeve artwork is ready - his image is on the front.
* 10 tracks of pure classic guitar pop - more like his old material
like "Purple Rain"
* Lead track called "Lay Down" - video is being shot.
* Single to be serviced to radio globally.
* Prince wants to 'claim the year 2010' - full activity is planned
to promote this album.
* He wants this to be MASSIVE.
* European tour is being booked now to coincide with the “2010”
* Prince fan and official website will support promotion, e-mail to
fan database
* Album release - dates to be announced soon

Because I haven't known about them. I've never once claimed to know everything about what Prince is doing. I speak to some people, sometimes those people tell me things if I'm interested enough to ask. That's really all there is to it. I've never claimed to be some sort of Prince insider. There's been a few occasions where I learned some information that wasn't public and I shared it. If some people want to believe that I pulled that shit out of my ass, that's their prerogative, but I didn't.

It seems that Prince changed his mind regarding 20Ten Deluxe, but what I don't understand is why I'm getting shitted on for simply obtaining some information from someone who worked on it and choosing to share it, when Prince himself spoke about the album to the French radio station, the Belgian newspaper, and the Peach & Black Podcast. I've said it before, but the ONLY reason I even asked my friend about this album was because Prince had already spoken about it in public and premiered a song. Given that the album, for all intents and purposes appeared to be coming out, I asked for more information and got it.

The problem as I see it is that while 95% of people here appreciate any tidbit of information, there's a particularly hateful, negative, internet-trolling 5% that are bored enough to try and personally attack someone just for providing information and attempting (but failing) to paint some picture of me being some guy who has nothing better to do than make up shit on the internet.

Hell, if I REALLY was going to make something up, it would be a little bit more interesting than "There's been some artwork commissioned and designed for the deluxe edition".

So, it is what it is. The usual suspects will keep trolling my name and my posts for their (admitted) own amusement, life goes on, and IF I ever find myself in a position where someone's told me something, I'll sure as hell think twice before posting it here, even though most people would appreciate it.

This is kind of sad. To know that he had all those intentions yet followed through on absolutely none of it. He didn't even release the album in the United States. That is a far cry from claiming the year 2010.

It is clear to me that he still has aspirations of being commercially viable again. I really do wonder what keeps him back?

And what about that funk album you claim was going to be released in 2008?

Here's the problem: In both cases (supposed funk album and 20TEN Deluxe), you've popped up after some fans have speculated/indulged in pure fantasy, and have offered to have insider knowledge that this speculation is in fact true. Seems kind of fishy to me, like a guy hedging his bets while trying to get some shine on a fansite.

For me at least, there's nothing personal going on here, but I'm not going to stop pushing you to back up your stories.

A handful of extended versions and some fancy artwork was never going to make the standard thing any better.

What would have been nice is if it were given a release in the USA, Australia and all the other countries who may have missed it, and package it in a proper jewel or digi case, much like Planet Earth was.

I didn't hate everything from 20Ten, but would not waste my time purchasing a deluxe cd just because it has longer versions of the same suck ass songs!!

Perhaps "if" he put a dvd in it

"if" he redid the entire cd

"if" he released it in the states

"if" he had more guitar rock songs on it

"if" he added about 20 more songs to it... yeah, the ones that were supposed to sound like Purple Rain!!!

I don't quite see how you can say that 20TEN Deluxe is "pure fantasy" when, again, Prince spoke it about himself on multiple occasions to multiple people. The information I offered in this scenario only supports that.

I know we've discussed the funk album to death before, but as I said before, I was told a tracklist had been compiled which included "Turn Me Loose" as well as "Prince & The Band" (which I heard a studio version of at one of the Indigo2 shows when Prince himself was co-manning the DJ booth next to Rashida and telling her what to play), and there was more than a few insiders saying that the backdrop on Leno was going to be the artwork for this release. I've said all this before though and I don't wish to continue discussing it. It's a whole different issue to 20Ten Deluxe, and admittedly there is much LESS evidence for it, but at least at the time there did seem to be enough for it to be potentially coming out. At this stage, you can either believe that or not, and that's pretty much the end of it.

I'm glad that you at least are mature enough to not make it a personal issue, but let me assure you - I really have no desire to simply "get some shine on a website". I'm an enthusiastic fan who wants to share information, nothing more nothing less. I have zero interest in pulling fictional info out of my ass for random people on the internet. It's not my style.

Unfortunately because of the haters and trolls, most of the people who have serious substantial insider information won't even post it anymore because they got shitted on in the past. I got orgnotes from 3 of those people in response to this thread.

You have to remember this is Prince we're talking about. He changes his mind a lot, so you can't expect anything he announces to happen.
