Okay, I know I am a little late, people, but I actually just discovered the masterpiece "I hate U" and I absolutely LOVE it! I seem to discover new Prince music all the time and I love to find new treasures in his vast catalogue.

Great song.

"I Hate U" is one of those songs that I can't really listen to just once, I have to play it a few times.

It's classic.

Prince has done so much music over the years, it's easy to stumble across something you've never heard before. I just discovered "Extraloveable" .

One of my absolute favorites!! This song gets to me every time!!! The vocals ... OMG!!!!!

One of my favorite Prince songs of all time and, in my opinion, proof that he can still come up with a great song more than a decade after his glorious 1999-PurpleRain-ATWIAD-Parade-SOTT-Lovesexy years. I don´t know WHAT exactly triggers writing a great song in Prince but in this case, something must have inspired him deeply ( so finally, there´s at least one thing that Tony M. and Carmen can take credit for).

The remix is even better than the album version (not that there´s anything wrong with the regular version but the remix is sooooo good. One of Prince´s last great maxi singles, with lots of different versions and extras).

The video is a bit meh, but the song was quite successful in 1995 despite the feud with WB. As far as I remember, it almost reached the Billboard top ten without much support and I think with the proper support, it could have easily become number one. Many non-fans back then, even people who can´t stand Prince, really loved this song in 1995.

I love that line in the remix where he mentions the feather in Forrest Gump. And the line "you gave a dog a place to bone, and now your ass is all alone" is classic

Anyway, the extended makes a great song Brilliant, one of the most played Prince songs in my collection!!!

It's one of his best songs from the 90s and overall too. The last part of the song, the court room segment, is one of the best pieces of music I've ever heard!

I found the remix on Youtube and it was great, too. But I actually like the album version better - I think it´s brilliant. BTW, has Prince ever performed I Hate U live? I haven´t found it yet but I think it´s a bit strange if he hasn´t since I read it was the first single from The Gold Experience. AND it would also be a fantastic song to include in his concerts.

Mostly just snippets or as part of a medley in 1995-96.

Hate U is the best Prince song 1995-2010. I rate it extremely high

If this had come out in 1987 it would had been a huge hit.

I absolutely LOVE it..... gives me goosebumps (used to).

If this had been promoted properly by Prince AND Warner Bros., this could have been an even bigger hit than TMBGITW was in 1994.

Probably one of the biggest wasted chances single-wise. This could have been a classic.

It was poised to be a number one. Maybe a week or two more and it could've gone from #3 on the black chart to the top and pushing it into the top 10 on the hot 100.

Do you mean the song dropped from the charts because of the video? It would have deserved to be number one! It is such a great song with a brilliant vocal performance!!!

Oh, no. The video wasn't released at all. I just meant if there were just a bit more of a push in promo for a couple weeks, it would've hit number one. But I added, plz don't release the video, cuz it is terrible. lol

I actually only like the video. But the song's okay.

Well, if this was aimed at my heading you are very welcome to correct it. At first i wasn´t quite sure what you were talking about but I just now discovered that it went a little too fast when I was creating the thread. Won´t (hopefully) happen again, I generally don´t like bad grammar myself, especially when I´m the one who´s making the mistake.
