I think u'll find all music sounds better after a blast - u're RIGHT in there. For me? Probably Computer Blue Full version for a total trip.

It depends on how high and which kind of "height" one wants to be in, or on:

International Lover

Something in the water doesn't compute (I just love that song, rarely heard)

Do me Baby

Controversy live versions (seen and heard in Grand Palais-Paris and Arras)

Hot Thing

Forvever in my life ( live versions)

It (very interesting song, he should remasterise )

Lovesexy

I wish U heaven

Positivity

Push ( without the rapper, dislike his voice)

Love to the 9s

Continental

7

I wanna melt with U

Rock hard in a funky place

Mountains (last live versions)

New Power generation

We can funk

Joy in Repetition

Tell me how U wanna Be done

Letitgo

The Ride

Black Sweat

Dance 4 me (live Paris' version)

Ol Skool Company (live version)

Of course as you've noticed, I definetely prefer his live versions aouch, it's so good that it almost hurts

We make our own way to heaven everyday

I can imagine 'Head' actually being a very 'entertaining' song to get drunk & act out, might have to try that this weekend woot!

.. or the music is right in you? Honestly, if you just close your eyes and let the music 'possess' your body, there's no feeling like it.

There's a reason why getting stoned and listening to music is one of my favourite activities love

mmm I remember one of my best trips was on Rainbow Children, such an adventurous record wow.

aiden said:

The first time I listened to the Rainbow Children I lit a candle dimmed the lights & had a spliff. It works very well with weed also "One Nite Alone" and "The Truth" are good stoner records.. Oh and ATWAD... Heck all of them sound good when youre stoned. It's been a while for me though blunt

I haven't tried listening to TRC yet, but judging by posts in this thread .. I'll put it on my to do list.

'One Nite Alone' is literally breathtaking when stoned, it really is something else .. especially when you're in that mood lol

OMG, I can't believe people discuss this in public! Yikes! OK, I will play along, though I have never smoked and never will, there are songs of Prince that makes me feel "out of it"....Joy in Repetition, 3121, Beautiful Strange, Darlin Nikki, Empty Room..

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

Haven't actually done this since I was in high school circa 1999 album. That is a great album to bend your mind around once you've attained that "enhanced" and "elevated" state. I recall getting in touch with emotions, erotic and otherwise, and the accompanying oceanic crescendoes of mind, body, & soul. I might have to revisit that place after this thread. smile

I find that (depending on the strain and) the type of high the strain produces usually dictates the Prince song I listen to. For example:

When I get my hands on Sour Diesal, I like to listen to the Live from Paisley Park version of Letitgo.

If it's just Northern Lights, I'll go for Letitgo on the Smooth out tip remix.

Thunder is great with Orange Crush (there was this one time I was smoking in Central Park and had this jam blasting, and the harmonies just killed me) or Kush.

And when I started smoking, I would listen to "High" (can't remember the album, but I think I first heard it on one of the Ahdio shows - "I'll get you high again. Prince gonna get you high"), as well as Breathe (From Madrid 2 Chicago) while smoking Haze.

What I'd like to know is, how many people have smoked weed at a Prince show. What was that like and during what era (3121, TRC, etc) did it occur? I smoked once at a Muse concert at Madison Square, as well as at a lot of smaller venues around the city, but never at a live Prince show. If I go with the cheap seats for the February show, I'd prob. do it there. One of the great things about NYC is there are all kinds of strains widely availabe, and the only harassment I usually get while smoking in public (at parks, at shows, or on the streets of the Village) in NYC are folks who smell it and want to take a pull.

I´m always very sober when I go to concerts but I remember a concert in 1998 in Cologne where Prince stopped the show and complained about "them funny cigarettes", then Candy spoke to the audience and asked everybody to stop smoking joints or else Prince would just leave. The sidedoors were opened for a few minutes to let some fresh air in, and then they went on with the show.

This was an aftershow and I even have it as a bootleg somewhere. As far as I recall, the bootleg´s name is "Rock This Joint". lol

It was a comparatively small venue though, Live Music Hall in Cologne (Ehrenfeld), and Prince was really pissed because of all that marijuanan smoke. The show was quite good, the version of One Of Us that he played was great ( last song?), and the interruption happened while they were playing Days Of Wild.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Don't and can't get high, but psychedelic sounding or moody music does it. Start with Moonbeam Levels, Grand Progression, The Ladder, Old Friends 4 Sale (original), Empty Room. Top it off with The Rainbow Children, The Undertaker, and then have 2 squeeze in one non-Prince song, Maggot Brain.

It's amusing to see people's ignorance about cannabis. Keep smokin' whatever the government is putting in your pipe, though. More cannabis for the rest of us. razz

That is a good idea. I also found out that anything from the 81-82 period is really cool to listen to.
