oh my gosh my cat would do the same thing! esp when I start playing the loud music such as Computer Blue or Lets Go Crazy but with the softer music, not so much

I am a hardcore Prince fan in my family , and the only one. It is just my mom and I , but when it was me, mom and my dad. I was still the only Prince fan. I got my mom into Prince just about over a year or two ago. I have been a fan since i was 13, sure i had my bouts now and then , but i stayed pretty consistent. My family is Pentocoastal, and i was not allowed to listen to any secular music for a while or TV. Well, i sure did go to my first Prince concert last month, my mom and I. It was amazing, and he is indeed as Whoppi put it , " the consumate Performer".

on my first date with my now husband.. we were talking about music and of course, prince came up... and he said his favorite song was 'new power generation'.. i was stunned.....

turns out , his ex was also a complete prince lunatic like me.. kinda weird.

anyway, my mom might hate prince, but my hubby loves him.

Isn't it laughable to hear someone say that? I know only the hardcore fans 'know' when P has an album out or not but, what's a TRIP is they come out and say it aloud that Prince's last album was this or that when we know differently. It's kinda of 'ignorant' on their part to say that. I rarely listen to the radio but, you'll never hear me say something 'close' to that ... LoL

A co-worker's husband said something similar to me once, at a company Christmas dinner. I thought, "Why, am I supposed to be listening to something else?" It kind of annoyed me.

I would love to see your sister's 3121 dance.

My little sister liked him for years because of me until I told her about how Vanity 6 was formed, and she never got over it heheh My parents respect him from afar as an artist though I remember my dad liking him more than my mom, like in the 80's and early 90', but I remember my mom saying he's the symbol of shi.t too sometime in the 90's haha

Didn't really get into this whole Prince-thing until this past summer. My mom is a bit of a fan, none of my friends are. Went to the December show solo, in January dragging my mom with me because I figured everybody must see that man live at least once.

As for his weirdness, my professor resently announce that Prince would meet his match in me. (Whatever that's suppose to mean. I'm not sure if I should be offended or not.)

My mother thinks that Prince is a dwarf and she constantly says " how and why do you love him"..I get really angry aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh, I answer what I feel for him no one can understand

My Father just frowns and repeats "Prince" with a special accent... : I know he doesn't dislike 'cause he's a guitar player himself and likes people who play guitar..

The interesting rebutle to that is I don't think 'mom' cares about JW Prince now. Rather she is in 'the know' or not.

when i wore this yesterday my dad asked if i joined prince's band?!!! my new red lace tank from H&M and leopard pants from hot topic....i had grey ugg knockoffs on with it...

I am the only Prince fan in my family. My mum appreciates his major hits but thinks he's weird and my dad appreciates him as a musician but doesn't actually like his music. My sisters are all too young to really have an opinion!

I only have two friends who like Prince but at least I have someone to go to concerts with!

My friends & family are not the least bit interested in any of Prince's music. My wife is the only one with the patience enough to tolerate him that I know of. If any of my friends like Prince then it it would be songs like Kiss, WDC, PR or something along those lines as very casual fans.

I think my mom thinks I'm nuts because I've been playing Prince music on my I-Tunes non stop! And we could be having a conversation in the car about whatever, but if I hear Prince's name come up on the radio, I shut down and all focus goes straight to him...conversation over!
