I love stuff like this, to be honest, i would prefer a handful of this type of "release" to that of a new album every year. A new Prince album (of new material) every two years, and a handful of these in between would be great.

Well, you know, what I learn from listening to Revolution rehearsals is that what they were doing was no so mysterious as I made it out to be, cause you listen to it, and it's basically like any band practice I've ever been involved in. It's really familiar.
Case in point is jamming on a riff and realizing that it belongs to someone else. This has hapenned to me so many times. One time, for example, my band came up with this totally killer riff, and we worked on it for an hour and then at the end we realized we were playing Led Zepplen "Immigrant Song". THis happens all the time with other bands, too. It's funny and cool to listen to it happen to the Rev, too. | |

Just downloaded this. It's so sick I love it! The Guitar around 22:00 on the Bird Rehearsal is funk. He really was influenced by Sly and the Family Stone, and you can totally hear it. The only thing I am wondering about is why on the actual soundtrack recordings, the tracks have modulated. Some are higher and some are lower..It's not even unniform. Maybe it's just the quality of the recording... but I doubt it. How'm I gonna fill this empty room... | |
