Yeah, that cover is beautiful. The nicest cover a Prince release has had in quite some time! (official or otherwise)

Just wondering, I guess this must be one of the earliest recordings of Purple Rain, it sounds sort of 3/4 ready here. Anyone know of anything older than this?

I hate this. First A box of chocolates, and now this. I always feel like the odd kid who never gets to play with the cool new toy!!! Not sure why, but my low tech nasty computer won't download anything. Everytime I run a search to try to get stuff like this, my poor ass is asked for a credit card number. Guess there has to be somebody to buy all those pressed releases...but all those pressed releases are the reason I have no money left. It is an endless cycle, and I am suffering. Oh woe is me...cry me a river Jerome!

I edited my original post to clarify that it's a circulating rehearsal - I could see how my wording may have been a little confusing, but as pointed out above, the source tape used for The Bird is much better than what we've all heard previously.

Either you don't know how to use google or you have some malware that's effecting your search results. I suggest a good anti-virus program.

It's a fun bootleg nostalgia trip, if you had the tape or LP way back when. The tracks here are as good as you'll find them - unlike that old cassette or vinyl.

I've never listened to a Prince rehearsal before but this was AMAZING. The Bird jam was great. It was awesome to listen to Prince make off the cuff comments as well as hear him use musical terms. He really must have perfect pitch.

Electric Intercourse surprised me. Really lame vocals. Thank God he decided not to go falsetto-y on it when they premiered it.

If you enjoyed the rehersal element of this performance (e.g. princes verbal instructions), then i highly reccomend that you locate the 'Christmas in Uptown' And 'An Honest man' bootlegs.

Both are rehersals and are equally incredible.

There is a section where he is working out an arrangement for anotherlover and he plays a beautiful piano progression.

I LOVE rehearsal boots!

Another stellar release from FBG. Definately the best P bootleg 'label' out there at the present time. Well, between them and 4DF anyway.
