Drfunkenberry.com has learned exclusively that Prince was at Warner Bros. Records yesterday. Prince, who is town for the BET AWARDS this Sunday, stopped by his former record label

Prince was signed to Warner Bros. in 1977 until the late 90’s although things soured between the prolific genius and the former label giant around 1993, where Prince abandoned his birth name and wrote the word “slave” on his face until his emancipation from the label.

We are told that Prince’s appearance at the Warner’s office had employee’s in awe. At this time, we do not know what was discussed, weather it was old material, or if perhaps a new deal for an upcoming project. When we do know, you will know.

He wouldn't need to show up at WB for that. He has a photographer on staff and could easily send over photos if WB asked for some.

I think they've signed him to their Christian music arm, Warner Alliance.

Also I need to ask. People often accuse Drfunkbeery as being some kind of Prince whore. Is he a genuine gossip columnist or does Prince feed him this stuff? (Am I being naive?) Because if Prince feeds the gossip then surely this is a business deal

I think Prince needs some proffessional producers and organizers again, plus he needs this move if he is ever to be heard on mainstream radio again. I believe the flood of recent law suits has been bleeding him, and perhaps he needs to go back to place that use to throw buckets of money on him. SPECULATION ONLY OF COURSE.

I would think that if he collaborates with Warners again, it would not be a binding long term deal, and he is in it to learn what he can to help his solo drive.

There is ONE AND ONLY ONE THING THAT SPEAKS 2 PRINCE : $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$..so i hope that WB has a lot of $$$$$$ 2 offer 2 prince.....If not............NOTHING 2 EXPECT my FRIENDS!! !!!!

Maybe they are tyring to mend fences and maybe do a distribution deal for a new project? I know WB is struggling on the urban side and maybe they might try to woo P back? I don't know. I just hope that they accomplished what they set out to do.

WTH??!! Even though stranger things have happened, I would be shocked if this meeting was in regards to a completely new project. I'm guessing it's about old issues (i.e. ownership, royalties, masters, etc.) or could be, dare I say it, some sort of project ala box set/rarities/hits package. Regardless I am very curious to see what if anything comes of this...
