Thanks, but I keep getting this message:

can't find the server to www.drfunkenberry.com .....??

Try this one. You clicked on the earlier one I posted, before I had a chance to change it to the direct link leading to the Prince/WB one. Anyway, here's the link that takes you directly to the Prince/WB news below:

Prince 2 get his masters back. most probably, that's the deal.

Prince to release material from the vault?

Prince to sign a multi million dollar deal?

Sound Interesting.

Anyway if he gets control over his music he may change the lyrics from sexuality 2 spirituality,

Gett off 23 scriptures, Sexy mf 2 whatever.

could be positive could be negative could be nothing.

It would be cool if he re-mixes ALL of his HIT Songs for a new project. In addition, do acoustic versions on some. Which would add up to several CD'S that I would buy and not down-load by the way !

Do u honestly think this a goal of Prince's?

Unfortunatly, you have people on this board who really think that P will be on mainstream radio again at 52 years old. You know along with all the other 52 year old on the radio. (LOL)

Age is just a cage

If Prince made a visit & had a meeting @ WB, on this week of his big honor @ BET. It has to be something huge going to happen.Especially if he had the news sent to Dr. FB. This is not just any old label. This is his history label....

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

Just thinking out loud....

I think a good move for Prince might be a greatest hits package

Disk One The WB years. Disk 2 The NPG Years.

He promotes it using the Time Warner machine.

WB get to milk the catalouge.

Prince gets to give the public at large a new starting point with him and promo the albums he's made over the last decade and a bit.

Ha!

So now the poor slave is knocking his old masters' door...

If after all he's said and done against WB he'd be willing to work with them again for monetary reasons this would be the lamest and most pathetic Prince move of his entire career.

If I were WB's CEO I'd just tell this mofo to fuck off and to please close the door after leaving.

The guy has no sense of shame at all. He's just a whore.

Both him and us LOST a lot when he left WB and the only really good thing we got after that was The Rainbow Children. I really miss the WB years.

But if he's now trying to step back we would lose the little credibility he has left.

look, he's gonna fuck it up somewhere along the line by asking for too much $, puling out at the last minute or just not doing any promo. He has previous form on this so do not trust ANY rumour or even official news until the product has been downloaded or bought!.

nod I soooooo agree! And "Housequake" is one of my favorite Prince songs, though I haven't even tried to listen to it in years because the sound is so awful in comparason to the fidelity of music produced these days.

It still sounds good on the original vinyl. cool

That would explain a lot. Like why it sounded so good to me back in the day when it first came out (...when I would have been listening to it on vinyl), and why it's such a disappointment today on CD. I thought my perception had changed.

I hope it was to discuss old business matters. I mean how many times is he going to get into bed with Warners? The relationship always sours. Whether it be with a major name change that is unpronouncable, or a damned horrrible waste of time artist (Carmen Electra) that Warner Bros co-signed on. Move on already.

And if this meeting was about something "New" each of the deserve exactly what they get from each other from this day forward.

Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

I hope this is just to clear up some old business.

All that shit he talked about WB, seems kinda pathetic to go crawlin back to a former employer for a new deal.

Just sayin....

I rather doubt he "crawled." rolleyes

If a deal is done, it will benefit everyone. With any luck, Prince has gained enough maturity to see that.

Ok maybe "crawled" was a bit much *getting image of Prince crawlin across the floor like a cat out of my head*

Anyways...... what was the topic? Oh yeah, hopefully something beneficial will come of it...... biggrin

The WB years is where his money is. The back catalog. The good stuff. The 80's stuff. So if he is short on cash like in paying a promoter he owes millions to, that's where he should be. He should shower, come his hair, pop a mint in his mouth and head on over there bright and early wearing knee pads a fresh balm of chap-stick and lubricant.

this will be good news either way

Totally agree! If Prince actually showed up at WB Headquarters, it's all about a TON of money going into his pocket, and music being released (new or remastered old... or BOTH!), otherwise he would have just sent his lawyers. And WB will be grateful for whatever pennies Prince throws them to seal the deal, because record companies are in the toilet right now. And you best believe, WB is gonna have to kiss his royal ass before Prince will agree to anything.

That's it: Prince wins! lol Prince held his ground and now is about to blow-up in a very big & lucrative way!

PDogz, weren't you the person who saw Prince perform on the Fire It Up Tour as the opener for Rick?

I hope you're 100% right about your post, because I sure do want something positive for Prince and his legacy. I'll keep my fingers crossed and my hope alive! peace

So has Prince. And he could have kept getting paid - had he not decided to act like a big, whiny baby.

I think he went back to Warners to get his masters back. I mean the rights to his masters back. Prince is no fool. He has backup copies of all his Warner albums. He just need the law to say he can re-release them on his own. Or maybe he is trying to make a deal to release unreleased songs ftom the 80's and 90's. Who owns the masters if the material is not released?

Dude you talk so much Shit. I caught a whiff of it all the way down here in New Orleans.

Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.
