While I didn't break up with him completely because of it, I once dated a guy who couldn't name a Beatle. It wasn't the sole reason for our breakup a few days later, but it certainly didn't help his case.

I was engaged to a guy who "didn't mind Prince"- until the "Musicology" tour. Then he became an ass when he found out HOW MUCH my friends and I liked Prince. I ended up going to 3 shows- one with him. THAT was a hot mess!

We argued all the way back, and he told me that was my last show!

We didn't break up because of Prince, but his reaction to it showed me how much of a controlling jerk he was!

Absolutely. I went out with a girl, and on the second date on the way home I played 'Dance 4 Me'...she complained, and asked me to turn it off...so I never called her again. To be fair, it had more to do with complaining on a second date than anything else. I just lost interest.

but that's cause he's a kickass musician and just a overrall good person

That is one of a few questions I always put in my first date and if she don't like P there is no reason to continue. Hell if Housequake was still around I would have dumped this site if not for the good info I get here. Too many haters around here.

I've started telling people straight up that I'm a huge Prince fan, once the subject of music comes up. I used to be a bit hesitant about it, feeling like it would scare people away. I realized, however, that being hesitant only prevents me from finding someone else that likes P too. If they don't like Prince, they'll either have to pass me by or deal with my rambling about the guy.

Hmmm... I guess this is assuming that there are only guys and lesbians here.
