Is this the beginning of the end??

This is serious...

For the FIRST time in his career, Prince cannot or does not want to release his new album in the USA...neutral

this is sad, and dangerous.

I THINK HE'S JUST LOSING IT. He doesn't care about the Internet, he doesn't care about the industry, he doesn't care about the ways his albums are released, he doesn't care about his fans, he doesn't care about his core audience of the USA (or the rest of the world, for that matter)...the return of the freak, the weirdo, the return of the "I like to be in the wilderness, cuz I NEED to be different than the rest of the world...", the return of the dreadful 97-03 years...???? shit, fuck, shit disbelief

what's his future? to write new music only for a select audience that will get his new CDs via european newspapers or via rapidshare (like the american audience is doing right now)?? Is this what we deserve? do we have to travel to Germany or the UK?? IS THAT IT?? neutral

...THIS IS SERIOUS...I'M scared...For the first time, I can feel that Prince TRULY doesn't give a FUCK about his music anymore...so arrow possible "retirement" (sort of) in the near future?? just like Bowie did??

Discuss...

That's stretching it somewhat. With the luxury of today's digital technology and ebay, that problem is quickly solved.

To me 1997 was the beginning of the end. The tours from that point on no longer focused on much new material, he started running his mouth way too much, the mystique was gone. I used to have this crazy notion that he was somehow better than the rest. Special in some kind of way, but my idea of special did not include him having another person living inside him, especially one that was female...and they called Michael Jackson wacko???

Maybe you should come and live in Australia for a while and then you'd really understand what it feels like to miss out on Prince releases/concerts etc. lol

Yes, I'm being facetious.

And besides, it's not really the first time. The Undertaker VHS was never released in the US but can be found in many a secondhand bin throughout the rest of the world cool

So he didn't release the 3 disc Lotusflow3r in the US and nowhere else? i think you'll find he did, i know France got a 1 discs version but the US were the only ones to get it properly, stop the whinging, you've probably 'got' 20Ten anyway. it may even come out as a retail version at some point with more stuff, but FFS!

I think its quite the opposite, what i saw from him in Arras hes definitely not losing it. He looks more energetic and perky than I've seen him in years. Hes just getting different deals and doing different ways of releasing music. Also for decades u Americans has had loads of things that we never got in the UK, Europe and the rest of the world, thanks to the internet we are able to obtain it all of it. And mark my words Prince will come running back to the internet soon too.

I can feel that Prince TRULY doesn't give a FUCK about his music anymore...

Or maybe he just doesnt give a F about America anymore? I think the lyrics to Lavaux says a lot.

Hes distribution metods sucks elephant balls these days. Prince cant release a album properly cuz he dnt give a damn about his fans. He only released it the newspaper way cuz of the money. No u americans can wait but I dnt think there will b a us release and no rest of the world release eater. Prince acts very unproffesional and it all began after he left warner bros.

I dont see what the anx is, if Prince decides to go and live on a remote island in the middle of nowhere and only play/release music there for the rest of his days thats up to him, its his life. And as i said already, for decades u Americans has had loads of things that we never got in the UK, Europe and the rest of the world, thanks to the internet we are able to obtain all of it. of course, it's his life and he can cut his right hand off his he wants to, it's up to him; but Prince is a musician, so I'm interested in his music, and right now I CANNOT physically get an original & brand new copy of 20Ten, which is my favourite Prince album since 3121 (and I don't even own PE and MPLS).

20 years ago, even a turkey like Graffiti Bridge was in theaters and people talked about it (in a negative but passionate way) and bought the album, which featured a top10 hit; now he cannot or does not want to release his new music worldwide...and he even decides to AVOID the biggest market out there, the USA, HIS motherland, no more and no less, including his beloved Minnesota...bizarre, sad, odd,...

As I said, it's not the end of the world, but IT IS sad and, perhaps, a hint of near (5-7 years?) retirement...

And I can't see why/how Prince will come running back to the internet soon...

I really dont understand what is on Prince´s mind. I never saw an artist wanting to be so ´forgotten´ as him, and on the other hand, it really feels he wants to be popular (playing in Vegas, throwing LA parties, etc).

It´s getting harder and harder even for fans to get his stuff. I only have Lotus and 20Ten because I have good friends in America and Europe. And, call me old fashioned, but I want the REAL Cds, with booklet, cover, good quality, etc. Dont know why he acts against his own fans who supported him his entire career.

And nobody knows what will happen to his legacy after he dies, since he has no sons to release his stuff, like the Zappas.

so this means that the new cd will not come out here period. That doesn;t seem right. I agree tht the erope fans get bt=etter treatment. Or is he just pissed because the cdcan be heard on Youtube. I am to the point where I am loosing all hope for the man. I am serioous.

You can buy 20 Ten for about $7, get the entire Daily Mirror Newspaper, the physical cd, with a cheap cardboard cover with the names of the songs on it. After my credit cards forigen transaction fee, it was still only $7.16, which could go up or down depending on the exchange rate. Imagine how tough and hard it is to click on a link and buy a cd. It would probably be easier to get the new Billy Joel cd. Oh yeah, he hasn't made one in 17 years.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/c...order-row/

Please everyone, just go to the link and buy. If it comes out in the US, you spent SEVEN buks. Wow! Even in this recession, which has altered my spending habits, I cut my eating out habits for a few hours, and I could afford 7 freaking buks.

And just think...for 7 dollars, some bloke gets the cd, drives it from the Mirror to the airport, and some other bloke flies some Royal Britttish Airmail thingy, and for Seven Stinking dollars, you have this new cd. The music is not better, but probably a better value then paying $77 for the Lotus Failure website....again, I love the Lotus Flow3r cd, the web site...that's something to really complain about...moan moan, bitch bitch, bart bart, etc..
