And another thing...even though Prince killed the internet, they people that run it are keeping it open just long enough for everyone to save up that 7 dollars and buy 20 Ten:

Can we say publicity stunt? Really, I don't even take his comments seriously. If he really believed it was dead, the Mirror wouldn't sell it lol nor would Ebay lol

I'm actually over this album being issued in the U.S., if it doesn't get put out in America, big deal, we got it technically anyway. Those who cared to actually do the tempting thing to search for it.

And just think...for 7 dollars, some bloke gets the cd, drives it from the Mirror to the airport, and some other bloke flies some Royal Britttish Airmail thingy, and for Seven Stinking dollars, you have this new cd. The music is not better, but probably a better value then paying $77 for the Lotus Failure website....again, I love the Lotus Flow3r cd, the web site...that's something to really complain about...moan moan, bitch bitch, bart bart, etc..

I think some folks don't like to do online shopping especially if overseas. It'll be different if it was available on Amazon via an import. Then American, Asian, European fans who didn't get it released in newspapers and Australian/New Zealand fans wouldn't care, as long as they got it from there. I think factors into why some are hesitant to get the physical copy is because either of online store-phobia or the fact that the Mirror has a reputation as a gossip-mongering tabloid site or the fact that that's one of the few options people outside of the UK have in getting the album.

What is funny, is that some will not use any thought to get it from the source, but then will pay somebody $20 for it on ebay. The people you speak of that are hesitant about online shopping will ask people like me to buy them one, or worse, let somebody rip them off. I have helped many get 20Ten, and will not make one penny...and these are people without a computer, overworked co-workers putting in 65 hours a week,etc... I am not even close to being all that smart, but it does trip me out that some die-hards think it is so difficult, and a challenge to get this cd.

I dont see what the anx is, if Prince decides to go and live on a remote island in the middle of nowhere and only play/release music there for the rest of his days thats up to him, its his life. And as i said already, for decades u Americans has had loads of things that we never got in the UK, Europe and the rest of the world, thanks to the internet we are able to obtain all of it. And mark my words Prince will come running back to the internet soon too.

of course, it's his life and he can cut his right hand off his he wants to, it's up to him; but Prince is a musician, so I'm interested in his music, and right now I CANNOT physically get an original & brand new copy of 20Ten, which is my favourite Prince album since 3121 (and I don't even own PE and MPLS).

Can't u get someone to send it to u or something? if not im sure theres a WAV or FLAC, whatever its called, copies online somewhere and theres no inner shelve/booklet in the album either so ur not missing nothing grand.

20 years ago, even a turkey like Graffiti Bridge was in theaters and people talked about it (in a negative but passionate way) and bought the album, which featured a top10 hit; now he cannot or does not want to release his new music worldwide...and he even decides to AVOID the biggest market out there, the USA, HIS motherland, no more and no less, including his beloved Minnesota...bizarre, sad, odd,...

20 yrs ago the music industry was different and some ways it was marketed. Also he was with WB back then, things have changed. But he release the 3 disc set of Lotus only last year in the USA at a very cheap price and he played Paisley Park the beginning of this year, dont see what the problem is.

Maybe there is a bit of truth that he wants to move to France, who knows Prince changes direction of things like the wind. but isnt that what makes him more interesting, not knowing what to expect from the man next? wink

As I said, it's not the end of the world, but IT IS sad

whats sad?

and, perhaps, a hint of near (5-7 years?) retirement...

when asked in the mirror about the future he said "ask me in 70 yrs" i dont think hes retiring just yet, the guy is only 52.

And I can't see why/how Prince will come running back to the internet soon...

Oh he will lol

Some people say "ah, but a person can buy on eBay". Oh, come on! Why it seems to happen only with Prince? Fans of other artists can get physical CDs and DVDs at the corner store AND on ITunes. I wouldnt mind Prince playing the ´revolutionary guy´ if after that, the CD could be available.

I have a physical copy of 20Ten. It´s sooo cheap. No lyrics, no credits. Same thing of Planet Earth. I love that Prince is free as an artist, but we fans were a lot better treated during WB days.

Back then, Prince said WB didnt let him release as many albums as he wanted to. And now? He released basically one short album a year (with the exception of Lotus/MPLS/Bria) since 2004...(and ONE official DVD since 2002, while Madonna releases a DVD of each tour).

I just brought that up in case when it might come to a point when it's impossible to find any copies in one of your near stores. I have a store around my corner and in their case they

don't automatically order every possible new release by every artist, but they take notice which artists are most in demand. Through the years i've experienced that at many stores,

some releases are not always in stock and have to be ordered. It shouldn't count for an artists of the caliber like Prince but i guess times have changed.

Corner Store? Any young kid watching Cherry Moon will not understand Wreck A Stow! My "corner store" is Best Buy, Wal Mart, and Target. I have no idea if there is even a used shop within 20 miles of me. I am fairly low tech, and some would say not all that intelligent. I used less intelligence in easily finding 20Ten...well, almost no brain power.

This must be a slow week in Princeland!

Seriously, Anybody in America who wanted 20Ten has acquired it in one form or the other and for either nothing at all or a small amount of cash. If this is just about having it released in the United States then it's irrelevant. Record labels market certain artists overseas and then leave the US to buy the CD as an import at a ridiculously high price. This is hardly the end of anything.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Well, I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, and I can find physical CDs of several artists, from the most popular (Lady Gaga, Beyonce) to some obscure, and some guys that have a fanbase even not making big hits recently, like Stevie Wonder, Benson, Living Colour, Santana, etc.

Even 3121 was released here, Musicology too, for a nice price. But not TRC, PE, Lotus and 20Ten. If I could find physical copies of most albums in Brasil, I imagine things are much easier in Europe or US.

Note: every WB Prince album was released here, even The Vault, Chaos and Disorder, Girl 6, etc.

This is serious...

For the FIRST time in his career, Prince cannot or does not want to release his new album in the USA...neutral

this is sad, and dangerous.

I THINK HE'S JUST LOSING IT. He doesn't care about the Internet, he doesn't care about the industry, he doesn't care about the ways his albums are released, he doesn't care about his fans, he doesn't care about his core audience of the USA (or the rest of the world, for that matter)...the return of the freak, the weirdo, the return of the "I like to be in the wilderness, cuz I NEED to be different than the rest of the world...", the return of the dreadful 97-03 years...???? shit, fuck, shit disbelief

what's his future? to write new music only for a select audience that will get his new CDs via european newspapers or via rapidshare (like the american audience is doing right now)?? Is this what we deserve? do we have to travel to Germany or the UK?? IS THAT IT?? neutral

...THIS IS SERIOUS...I'M scared...For the first time, I can feel that Prince TRULY doesn't give a FUCK about his music anymore...so arrow possible "retirement" (sort of) in the near future?? just like Bowie did??

Discuss...

Get a grib ! Can U feel Yourself? I hope so..

Prince is constantly preparing for his next step in his journey.

Perhaps the panic would lesson if we perceive the European

The thing is, yesterday, I was browsing all the latest UK music magazines, like Mojo and Q, and there was not one single review of 20TEN, basically because I firmly beleive that the music press just cant b bothered with him anymore and I cant say I blame them!!!! In all intents and purposes hes a has-been!!
