What's Prince's wackest song of the 80's?

The 90's and 00's have tons of wackjuice to sift thru but he was so on fire in the 80's there's nothing as unbelievably bad as jughead or freaks on this side or a hundred other songs during these periods

I'd probably say Ronnie Talk 2 Russia since didn't age well but I still don't skip it when listening to Controversy.

I like "Lemon Crush"! shrug

That's tough. Maybe "Do U Lie" or "Arms of Orion". . .but then again, I can tolerate them when I'm in the right mood.

I agree and was hard to pick Ronnie cuz its a fun little jam but the lyrics are dated so went with it. I even enjoy Arms Of Orion despite it being among a lot of fan's worst list. Maybe I'd put Batdance but still like it for nostalgic reasons. Batman soundtrack is a personal classic for me and better than any 2000's album, but I can say that with any of his 80's albums.

Purple rain

1999

darling nikki

Kiss

Sign O' the times

something in the water...

little red corvette.....

oh sorry i'm just being a dick razz

The thing about the 80's for prince is that it is indeed his most noteable era and therefore there is not one album I can't listen to all the way through and even with the likes of...

Tambourine : I find experimental and cool if a tad flawed

Do U lie? : Just enjoy it for its uniqueness and also a lovely little filler before Kiss

Lemon Crush : Okay not as creatively edgy as previous tracks but still won't skip it...

Ronnie talk to.. : Again fun, if not just plain nonsense, again I will not skip it as it's over in seconds..

Jack U Off

Horny Toad

Free (I always hated the chorus)

God (I love the instrumental though)

Scarlet Pussy

La la la He he hee (there's not too many songs I like with a continuous dog bark sample)

Forever in My Life (Too minimalistic for me)

Chloreen Backonskin (does that count as a song or is it just a jam)

Escape

Thats hard! I'm trying to think of some, but I can't.

I don't care for "Temptation" that much even though its a good song, comparing to his recent stuff that is.

My response to this will not be a popular one, but it is a hands down decision for me.

The Batman theme.

It is probably in my top 10 worst songs ever by someone I like/respect.

I know most folks around here love that track, but I think it's a total cornball sandwich and is utterly embarrassing.

is it like trying to describe the non-adherent qualities of ash?

i'll go with 'Hot Thing', taking 'wack' to mean a tad off key in the bass

Looking at this objectively....

Jack U Off

Baby I'm a Star (I still enjoy it but, "Baby But I R".....I R what? Baboon?) hmm

Tick Tick Bang

Superfunkycalifragisexy (The title alone, really)

Glam Slam (Another wack title lol but I looooove the video)

U Got the Look (let's get to rammin?)

Let's Pretend We're Married (ooh we sha sha coo coo yeah is wack. Still like the song though)

Sister (shock value back then...tasteless now. Hindsight is 20/20 lol)

America (pretty wack...I still like it though)

Lemon Crush

Arms of Orion

The Future

Batdance (damn I'm being hard on the Batman album. Oh well it's no fault of mine)

Wacky doesn't mean bad. Wacky just means Wacked. Both songs are classic, but very wacky.

I'd put his worst track of the 80's as 'I Love U in Me'

"When she's making love it's like SURGERY!"

"Prince doesn't have verbal diarrhea, he has studio diarrhea...." Allen Leeds
