This is the best song off the album, imho.
The groove is very tight, sparse, the melody is very... sticky! This is a timeless song! 555-4444 you're on coffee talk.

So far, my favorite track on the album. Funky as Hell!

still sounds like a justin timberlake song to me. it's a nice little song but not my fav on this album.
i don't mind the rap that much, it's obviously just a fun intermission in the song and not meant as a serious attempt at rapping. i'm just gonna assume that, lol.
reminds me more of a stripped down black sweat than any kind of stripped down 80s funk
but like the rest of this album, it's probably not an instant classic, yet there is nothing to dislike about it either. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Glad I'm not the only one who heard it. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I like it... its fun.. top down... cookout in the back yard with the family playing cards... c'mon lets dance ya'll
I will say the rap part sounds forced... it sounds like he is trying to be hard. Prince suprisingly struggles with rap... it has been 30 years and he can't nail that down.
If he just rapped that in his normal voice and made it as breezy as the song it would have been fine. In any case despite that small error... overall I love the song. Yep I still love it
Again another strong song for R&B fans Dance... Let me see you dance

This song is good. The rap is the worst rap I ever heard, it's so bad it gets me smiling.

 I did like that part! I couldnt go to sleep because I had to keep playing this song...straight up only Prnice can come up with this clever arranged tune...straight jacked delivery from 1986...I really can do without the rap but the end climax of the song saved it. :music: My favorite track! Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

I read this as "it has that wonderful ass flavor"
| |

at first listen, it was a simple, catchy, funky little song. i love the "wonderful ass" vibe to it a lot.
it's not a lyrical masterpiece, but i like it. everything comes together well.
that rap though? ummm....

I'm feeling the rap, the flo is tongue and cheek old school and this joint is a period piece so it fits. The vocals have a pre record deal prince feel-like he's in the basement with Sue Ann and Andre. This song is Soooooooooooo Hot!!.

this song is fucking clever. the rap reminds me of 80s ole skool right before rap became "rap". This song is awesome 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Everyone needs to calm down on the rap bash. It's so fleeting and the rest of the song more than makes up for it. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740
