for me-the most old school jam on the album. Puts me in the mind of any of the uptempo tunes from any of the 1st 2 albums. Dont care about the off rap-love the tune. So catchy and fun-and loving the guitar as ever

When I first heard this last night, I involuntarily Morris Day laughed, it was that funky. Great track. And the rap ISN'T bad. It's just enough for the song IMO.

FUNKY! Pure Prince Magic on this song! Sticky Like Glue shows once again Prince's ablity to craft a pop/funk jam that melts right out of the speakers. Turn it up! Feel that beat and groove to that guitar! Purple Funk at it's BEST!

I also dig the rap Prince does in the mid section of the song. It's playful and sexy.

this song is fucking clever. the rap reminds me of 80s ole skool right before rap became "rap". This song is awesome lol

this makes sense because it's kinda playful like early 80s rap. nod

P's flow is kinda Kurtis Blow-esque or something...

I agree, the rap actually reminded me a bit of Sugar Hill Gang!
Definetely an 80's feel to it, probably my favourite upon first listen

I love the song now. Definitely a stand-out. I thought this, "Act of God" and "Lavaux" let the album down but the album was really up and down. But after "Future Soul Song" and this one (after hearing it on the stereo), I thought the intensity of the album picked up... somewhat.

Oh good lord another rap. I just hate 'em. Siiigh. This song actually has a nice 70's vibe goin' on in places. And not Prince from the seventies, just regular old seventies funk pop. The downward chord progression on the bass line and the stops at the end of each bar. Funky. And I dig the coda with Prince goin' off while the backing vocals repeat "whooaa sticky like glue". I just hate the rap.

Yeah it's definitely more '70s funk pop than '70s Prince (considering '70s Prince did not sound like this lol). He was strong on the falsetto in the late '70s, not so much here. But if you can take away the rap, this is HOT. nod The rap can go along with it if you get deep in the groove. It would've been better without it but it's definitely a standout. The second best track on this.

reminds me of the stuff from "High". I like it towards the end, but again... funk light to me. Needs more grit imo.

It's funk pop to be honest. Funky R&B on a pop appeal tip. lol That's what it is.

I like this one a lot. Could've been one of his "girl group" songs back in the day.

this is one of my favorite tracks so far, the rap is short and playful and it doesn't really take away from the song, nice funky guitar work, this man can throw a jimmy nolan JB guitar anything, tight song!

the melody is a bit weird and the hook kinda reminds me of in this bed eye scream and his rap makes me wanna bump jughead repeatedly (i actually like jughead too stoned). "that was the coolest movie eva..." falloff (pat for prince), but he brings it home quite nice. i'ma like this one cool

I'm still not entirely digging this track. I listened to it once on headphones last night and enjoyed it a little better but today it's backto being sort of "meh"....

It reminds me of an old 80's bootleg tape, like it should be stuck on there somewhere between Wonderful Ass, Big Tall Wall, White Girls... lol
