Why was Michael the King of Pop? Because Prince was Prince or His Royal Badness and Elizabeth Taylor couldnt stand it. She named him the King of Pop and everyone else ran with it. You know why you didnt get that respect Mike? Because Prince's albums (in the 80s) had an artistic quality while your albums were made for the jukebox, every track designed to be #1 with a bullet. You saved your artistic merit for your videos and concerts where you performed the exact same dances we saw in the videos over and over and over and over...No new arrangements, etc.
