Hopefully we will soon get a proper review in English.
Surely the Mirror would have wanted a track going to radio to make the masses aware of the give away. If it weren't for the org and Moquake I would know nothing about the CD be included with the paper.
Maybe Absolute will have an exclusive sometime this week
On another note what time are the papers normally delivered to the newsagents?
I have a 24 hour tesco round the corner. I plan to get there for 6am [Edited 7/4/10 11:36am]

Thanks for that - must have stopped reading that other thread some time around when this came up! Sounds cool...

If it takes too long to get it released in the United States, are they going to change the album title to "20Eleven"?

Looking at the difference between views and posts in this thread, I start to wonder if I'm not the only one just checking to see if it's leaked...

i can't believe this thing hasn't leaked yet. right now i've got images of prince riding around europe together with bria in a big truck, intent on delivering the albums to the newspapers, the evening they go to print, just to keep leaking chances to an absolute minimum.

I was thinking the same thing! Bowie's looks a lot better, though.

20ten doesn't seem to bear Prince's name... Does that make it a "symbol" album? "We've never been able to pull off a funk number"

No. | |

It is kind of amazing. But then I was thinking about it. Of his albums in the "leak" era, I can only remember 3121 and Planet Earth having leaked before they were officially distributed in some fashion. Remember, TRC, Musicology and LF/MPLSound were officially available digitally before they went on sale physically. That's actually pretty impressive, actually, when we're used to having access to every album weeks before they're officially available.

His name is kind of built into the 0 of the twenty/top of the symbol. Look closely, there's a thread about it. RIP

to follow up on the postponing news, the french article says :
Prince announces his new cd will come out everywhere in Europe, consequently courrier international will not be able to give it out in its july 8th edition,
to be continued

still vague and unclear through translation, but to me, it could mean it can't come out in the July 8 because it has to come out on 10th first in Britain and Belgium. or they decided since it was going to be in stores, they wouldn't bother (not likely).
OR. he found a label willing to give him a better deal than the papers were giving him, and the whole thing is called off after the fact.

Is the release postponed?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
As things stand at the moment no (unless you are French and were expecting to get it on the 8th). it will still be out on the 10th July in the UK and Belgium. This may change as more info comes to light. Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

Looks like the French release is posponed. As far as I know, all the other releases are going ahead on the 10th as planned.

Almost like the other interview...More quotes and more detailed but a lot of the same dialogue. I liked this one better though I did every now and then. [Edited 7/5/10 11:22am]

U guys are either crazy or do not understand space in art..I never liked that cover...there is huge misuse of space in the mid right section. It looks like there is a bunch of random clip art colored and illuminated to look cool. I always hated that cover. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

As someone who works in the arts, i was curious and looked up the artist responsible for the Bowie cover. I was shocked to find out it was by Rex Ray, an artist who's work I love. Bowie is an art connoisseur and had become acquainted with Ray and asked him if he knew an illustrator to come up with an anime character for the album. Ray asked to be given a shot for the project and the cover is the result.
It has to be pointed out that Rex Ray is mostly known for his gorgeous "abstract" work and that maybe he should stick to that. lol This cover clearly demonstrates he is completly out of his element. Bowie as an art connoisseur should know how amateurish that cover turned out. But who knows, maybe that was the intent but i doubt it. More likely he did not want to hurt Ray's feeling especially afer he volunteered to do it.
Rex Ray also designed Wendy & Lisa's beautiful "White Flags" cover art, you can clearly see where his strength as an artist lies. lol [Edited 7/5/10 12:29pm]
