Europe is big. He has to do many deals if hes gonna release it trougt papers and magazines here. I belive we once again have to buy it as an import or maybe warner bros release it to us. Not a word yet on the swedish release

Yep, Europe is big. Half a billion Europeans won't get 20ten with a news paper.

And I wonder why he releases 20ten in Belgium? I mean, it's a country between England and Germany (and therefore you could argue, that any release in UK or DE would cover the market in places like Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg and any of the neighbouring countries, thus reaching an audience who'd travel the relatively short distance to venues across the border.

Wouldn't it make sense to spread out the promo release of 20ten across the board? If you released it in say Poland (central Europe) or Sweden (Scandinavia) or Spain (southern Europe), you'd cover much, much more of the continent and simply flood it with the words "Prince" and "20ten". Now .. not so much, as it's only the Western Europe that'd be exposed..

Yeah, I know ... the counter argument could be: "He's releasing it with news papers in countries he's playing" .. but then ... Why no release in Denmark, where he's playing this sunday?

[Edited 7/2/10 11:23am]

I also found it strange with no newspaper deal in Denmark where hes goin 2 play now. And at this point I have no clue how 2 get his new album so it will force me 2 download it 4 free 2 be able 2 get it. Theres no way 2 pre-order it. Atleast I could pre-order Lotusflow3r last year and got it 2days after the us release

That would make a better cover. It's much more subtle and sophisticated... biggrin

Now wouldn't be great if the official release of 20TEN was a 20 plus 10 = 30 tracks, three cd set? So he releases 10 of the tracks for free, then u have 2 buy the real release to get the complete set. Damn that would be cool.

Don't u want to come , 3121. It's gonna be so much fun, 3121. That's where the party be, 3121. Y'all can come if u want to, but u can never leave!

Kiddin'. I actually have an Australian calling into my radio show tonight live. It'll be about 11 a.m. for you guys, but 9 p.m. Eastern for me. It's Hatman from the org. He's an excellent musician, and we'll be talkin' to him about his music, and 20Ten.

Besides, you people's accent melts me at the knees every time. Thank God I'm sitting down for the show tonight.

You should ask Hatman if he has an Aussie friend he can hook you up with! lol

hahaha I didn't wanna go there, but it was a fun interview regardless. He's a gem of a guy, and I just love him.

Yeah, Hatman seems like a fun guy. I also have had a weakness for Aussie accents--starting way back with the Robert Scorpio character on General Hospital during the "Luke and Laura" days... boxed lol

Any idea on Australasian release date yet?

i dont want to have to import like Lotusflow3r and have to pay a fortune again pout

Prince has kindly gone out of his way (again) to organise the ebay and inflated import distribution scheme for us.

I'm pretty sure Prince has never actually heard of Australia. (....The couple of times he's been here were a result of a typo on the itinerary manifest. He fell asleep on the flights and thought he was in Austria.....I remember hearing a LOT of cow bells in 2003.)

Why would he come here again? Have U heard the shite that is considered worthy over here?

He is not Masculine enough for the people in control, they see him as a bit of a weirdo who last had an album in 91 or something.

Why would he come here? He only sells out shows in an instant to ravenous fans that are desperate to see him.

Not masculine enough? Are you living in Australia circa 1976? ...or are you in Adelaide? wink The 2010 version of Prince is about as threatening as Justin Bieber.

IMO, the main problem with Australian radio is the stagnant commercial American rubbish that it's filled with.

they usually only play LRC & 1999 down here sad

i gets all excited when i hear something different every now and again

That's definitely not from the new Prince album. Sounds like a Garageband loop or something.

I wonder if that clip on the daily mirror will sound like anything on 2010 dancing jig that sound like some demo from 1983-85

It's royalty-free, generic funk-lite sounding music. How does it not make sense for a cheap-ass video like that to have a free sample loop thing?

You think that sounds like Prince? I vehemently disagree.

I've heard that VERY same library music in a phone or cable commercial of some sort. A few months back it was on heavy rotation. Most definitely NOT from Prince's new album. Although, when I used to see the ad on TV all the time, it made me want to start a thread mentioning how much it was a "smells-a-like" to a Prince track.

5 days out and still no leak. that's kind of impressive. and a little irritating. it's got to be printed up and sitting in a warehouse somewhere, waiting to be mounted to newspapers.
