Something tells me they're going to press the lock button instead. lol

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

It would make sense 2 let the 2 Ebony Magazine stickies loose, and also the extraneous 20ten/magazine stickies. How's about it, Luv4U?

No idea who ernie is although I have a good idea who the disrespectful prick is; but since you quoted my reply, I'll answer your grade school tantrumn retort.

Let's clear up your confusion:

"Mirror and Daily Record to give away 20Ten in UK" http://prince.org/msg/7/339062 That's about the papers and the distribution IN THE UK

"FRANCE: First country to distribute 20Ten" http://prince.org/msg/7/339149 Obvious from the title, distribution IN FRANCE.

"The Album 20Ten ......(Discuss Here) Part 2" http://prince.org/msg/7/339285 There ya go. Discuss the album THERE.

So your solution was to start yet ANOTHER thread about something that has already been divided into three stickies, depending on one's geography? Among the other 20 gazillion threads on the album pop up daily, you want to troll your way through another one, is that it?

Genius alert! dunce

Agreed about the Ebony thing. It's old hat at this point. The France and UK distribution threads might end up sticking around (no pun) until it actually comes out, then they'll hone it down to one "Talk about the album here only" sticky. I think folks might still sort of need the UK and France threads just to have a place to find out what's up, should there be a hiccup in their area. Just a thought.

ass

What happened to those people who review the tracks based on titles only????

Ok I start first

20Ten Review

Anybody care to 'review' these tracks?

  1. "Compassion"
  2. "Beginning Endlessly"
  3. "Future Soul Song"
  4. "Sticky Like Glue"
  5. "Lavaux"
  6. "Act of God"
  7. "Walk in Sand"
  8. "Sea of Everything"
  9. "Everybody Loves Me"
  10. Untitled

As usual, u may also review them based on their titles as well (the "Org" style)

1. Compassion is a continuation from Cause & Effects, samples the chorus " u need compassion, compassion" slightly less rock with R&B beats

2. Beginning has the voice from Exodus with Sonny T co-sharing the vocals

3. Future tributes to Batman and uses samples from Future Baby Mama...skip

4. Sticky sounds exactly a remix of black sweat....."sticky like a glue glue" replaces the words "working like a black sweat"

5. Lavaux is about song and name about an upcoming soccer star from Germany who couldnt decide if he should play for country or own personal glory

........

10 Just like new power soul, track 10 - 49 are silences 4 seconds....Track 50 the final track "Hot Summer" is a perfect album closer!!

if u cant tell me if Prince or Rosie did the opening scream for Gett Off, then u are not purple !!!

Prince 20Ten: Comedian Lenny Henry raves about new album after sneak preview

I'll be listening to my Prince albums until the day I die.

He's a little guy but a musical giant so I am honoured to have been asked to review his new album, song by song:

1: COMPASSION This is vintage Let's Go Crazy-style Prince. It's got that mad off-beat snare drum and that two-time electro handclap.

2: BEGINNING ENDLESSLY A midtempo funk jam where Prince asks: "Why should you be satisfied with just Heaven and Earth?"

3: FUTURE SOUL SONG A ballad in which Prince dreams about piloting a jet with the power of his brain. Very laid-back with a nice "Oooo-eeooo, sha-la-la" hook. Dreamlike, ethereal, sexy.

4: STICKY LIKE GLUE This is where the album takes off for me. Once again, when the end is in sight, Prince unleashes the funk - tight-as-agnat's-chuff rhythm guitar switches to a one-string lead line and a gospel call and response. As my Uncle Clifton used to say: "Choon!"

5: ACT OF GOD Prince sings about fat bankers and Saddam Hussein (I suppose finding a rhyme for Bin Laden is trickier).

6: LAVAUX A funky, familiar tune where he dreams about Lavaux, an idyllic spot on Lake Geneva which has vineyards, and Portugal which has - Ronaldo. Very groovy. Look forward to the follow-up about Butlins Minehead.

7: WALK IN THE SAND On any other album this would be considered a stand-out. It's got a lovely light, midtempo rhythm plus melodic hooks that any artist would die for. It's just so unfortunate that it comes before...

8: SEA OF EVERYTHING The ballad of the album. The falsetto voice here is so malleable, this is Prince the honorary Delfonic, the apprentice Chi-Lite, the 21st-century Smokey Robinson. Prince has always sung well in this register but he seems to have improved with age... damn.

9: EVERYBODY LOVES ME Synth-rock with a squelchy bass hook about two minutes in that makes your bum want to wiggle around. There's a cheeky little piano hook that goes to show there ain't no shame in having a good time.

10: LAYDOWN Lowdown, dirty funk-rock dipped in chicken grease and served up bubblin' hot. This is the guitar rock god and he's takin' no prisoners. Go on, dip yer bread.

I really enjoyed this album and, as usual, all thoughts of his past triumphs slipped from my mind as I got lost in the present - stripped down to my purple pants, peach and black socks and my Ray-Bans. I dare you not to dance.

Yeah alot of people, including me could not get are heads around his review, it was just too good to be true, but if he;s right this CD is going to be great.... I just couldn't see Tony Parsons putting his neck on the line for his newspaper, he could just pass on the review or give it to a no name member of staff ?? hmmm

Yes, too many 20Ten threads...

Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.
