Hear hear! It's really just one poster so far, but I hate to think what Tame and the like will do with this once they figure it out.

On topic: I agree that this review isn't any more legit than the Rolling Stone one, given that it's in the same newspaper that is releasing the album, but it does sound pretty great. I'm letting my excitment getting the best of me here!

Well Rolling Stone in Germany, do they have a senior writter on this story, I don't think so ? confused

Not being German, I have no idea, and I'm sure you don't either. But even if they sent the most junior man they've got, it doesn't change the fact that until we see reviews from sources that don't have a vested interest in how sales are, you need to take this with a grain of salt.

Tony Parsons is a great writer though: I've read Man And Boy, Man And Wife and Men From Boys, and loved each of them.

Er......Business does not work like that, Prince would have pushed this to a number of sources, the one with the best deal for him would have been picked .....

Someone had to check out the goods biggrin

Business works exactly like that. These papers could not care less what this album sounds like as long as it's got a minimal number of actual songs to qualify as an album. These people need every gimmick they can get to sell papers, as it's an industry in the depths of despair and a dying medium.

Business that work like that soon go out of business! You really think that a company would invest millions in a project without due dilligence?! Checking out the investment first? Particularly if you're "in the depths of despair and a dying medium"! That would require prudence and wise investments to ensure your survival. I suggest its naive to believe that this company would put up the £500,000 fee or whatever (I think I recall that's what he got from the Mail) to Prince, spend all the money required to print the extra papers, carry the cd, promote it etc etc without having checked out if it was WORTH doing! lol

The "Lavaux" snippet sounds like 1982 with a 2010 twist. I love it. I look 4ward 2 hearing that in full. It sounds good. "Compassion" and "Beginning Endlessly" sounds cool also. 20Ten is sounding like a good follow-up 2 MPLSound.

I'll take that review with about 6 licks of salt, considering it's written for the publication that is giving the damn thing away. The hyperbole and sickeningly sweet ass-kissing in the article almost sent me into a diabetic coma. However... It just get me pretty excited, despite all that. PS: I wish ben would get rid of this WYSIWYG posting thing. Not only does it not work right, but it used to be so difficult to gaudy up their posts with a bunch of eye-aching bullshit when the formatting had to be typed out. But thanks for posting it anyway lol

Agreed. That's why I read it on the posted link. eyepop

falloff I swear Prince is just goofin' now.

Live show crammed FULL of 1982-86 songs, new album made to sound the same..... lol

What he's found is the perfect excuse to any criticism or complaint. He says the above and turns it around on the questioner...

"Why don't you write songs like you used to?" "I live in the here and now."

"Where's my $77 dollars?" "I live in the here and now. You should try it."

Judging by the latest snippets...

MPLSoUND is to late-80's Prince what 20TEN is to early-80's Prince.

The 'living in the now' comment refered explicitly to Prince's spirituality, not his music. It was in reply to a question about his current religious views conflicting with his past.

There is no suggestion Prince replies to that question regarding his music.

Maybe people want to keep their jobs, global melt down ....kind of hard to find work these days, plus how much would you get for stealing and uploading a free CD from Prince a 52 year old artist??

Not worth the trouble really, by Friday it will be on the net, as people come out of the Paris concert with the CD....

Sat 10th it will be online .... so why leak not worth the hassle... lol

Not sure he's a Fan or Fam or a just "liked his music in the 80's" type of guy, i suspect the album is the first album he thinks hits the 80's "high" sound....

He didn't like Planet Earth all that much ..... biggrin
