I posted this in the "Album Cover Art" thread regarding 20Ten, started by "logger." Since that thread was closed , guess I'll post this here:

After viewing an HQ version of the cover, I like that his hair is highlighted purple, but I don't like that his eyes are not brown. His eyes should have been colored light brown. It's still an awesome illustration though, and it captures him almost perfectly. It's the most eye-catching album cover he's had in a long time, in my opinion. I think it will garner a lot of attention in stores, even if the music is not popular.

Prince should have someone make him that outfit the cartoon is wearing. Then he could wear it onstage, and look like the drawing. Man, that would be hot.

Why all the negativity? Why dub the album a failure before its even released?

What if:

(my thoughts on the rumors I read here)

rumor 1: track 10 is hidden track called "20ten"

rumor 2: there could be a double cd in the air

rumor 3: prince met with warner US

What if:

1/ 20ten is the first 10 songs cd given away

2/ 20ten is the second 20 songs cd (double album) distributed by warner in the US or elsewhere than Europe

Hence the name 20ten (not the year as we all thought but 2 different albums one with 20 tracks plus one with 10 tracks..) 20Ten!!!!

Imagine the princely confusion.. "hey I just got 20ten.., which one??? 20ten 10 or 20ten 20???

Eh eh i was dreaming yesterday something similar: prince releasing 20 different cds with 10 tracks on every cd. 20ten. 20 newspapers releasing a different cd on 20 different nations. a babel album.

Like "Planet Earth" this one has been leaked/is about to leask online exactly the same way and by the same people cos the same newspaper distribution protocol was followed with this release...

After all, we're here to discuss the new music, not who has heard it first or not. And even if some people did, we can't talk about it as long as we haven't listened to it ourselves.

We've all heard the 25 second snippet though, so that's why I am going to talk about now:

This is a good ad and the snippet sounds quite interesting so far. Finally something a little bit outside of the classical cadence! Let's hope that's just the final jam of the song and we'll hear some more interesting chord progressions on that album!

The guitar sounds great, really fresh and funky.

The linn drum is light and kind of reminiscent of the MPLSound album. I personally liked the modern use of it, with phase effects on the snare and all that.

This very snippet is a bit too crowded with backing vocals for my taste, but we'll see. It may fit the whole song in the end!

Overall, I'm impressed by this ad (I wonder how much Prince had to say in the making of it - I doubt it was much, though, if anything at all) and I liked what I heard in the background!

I'm looking forward to this.

I think everyone needs to ask themselves....at the end of the day, does it really matter if Jake listened to the CD? the more people flame on, the more worthless this post becomes. Let's just wait until the stupid thing comes out/leaked then we can talk about it more constructivley

I'm trying to remember how long it was before the covermount day that PE was 'leaked' (i.e. everywhere, not just a select few).

I'm guessing no-one wants to really leak it TOO early, as that would be kinda 'bad taste' (in the same way people leak stuff low quality, rather than lossless etc).

Nothing about Jake matters. I agree.

For me, I don't read reviews of each song or what folks think of it before I get my own ears on it. No one is ever going to have the same opinion across the board, so why bother? Look at the division on albums like Musicology, or Planet Earth, or even The Gold Experience. I don't want some little boy from the Ohio valley trying to tell me what is good and what isn't on any Prince record.

I'm curious to hear the record of course, and I'll buy it as I always do. But opinions? Eh, I'm sure there will be a new sticky for it in a couple of weeks.
