The thing that strikes me about the song is that the tune is instantly recognizable and rememberable. I honestly don't hear much difference in vocal intensity between this and the Guitar demo.

It did seem like he's quite restrained on the vocals, but I think he was being deliberate with that...almost like 'Cream' vocals off of D&P.

None of ya'll were bitching when "200 Balloons" sounded like "Batdance". Or when "Blue Limousine" was sounding like "17 Days" or "Toy Box". Or when "America" used the same drum pattern as "Baby I'm A Star". Or when "Gamillah" was an instrumental of "The Holy River".

The song is a fun song. It's not meant to stop a war. It's just meant to be a damn pop song, and it really good song. It reminds me more of "Cream" and that very straight forward beat with a catchy chorus.

Holy shit this song is bad. I mean, we've heard some very uninspired Prince songs over the past few years, but this is beyond awful.

I rather listen to Sex in the Summer, but I'm glad there's some new material coming out!

Yeah.

To me, if he used vocals like on Raspberry Berret it could have been the 'new' RB for this generation--nowhere near as interesting, but with the same poppy summer vibe.

I think it's a good single still. Simply because the tune is easy to remember. Unfortunately, that's essential to radio today.

Much better than the last 2 tracks but he still sounds woefully uninspired.
