The Bride of Under the Cherry Moon!

Dig it:

Tricky, obsessed with the untimely demise of his late friend Christopher, has evicted all the tenants from his high-rise apartment complex in Miami, and turned it into a dark, spooky castle. He orders Katie (who never really had a mind of her own, anyway) out into the city to find a brain for Christopher's corpse, which Tricky has recently recovered through his nefarious underworld contacts.

Katie recovers the brain of the also-recently-expired Larry Graham, and brings it back to Tricky's spooky castle/laboratory. During a crashing storm of thunder and lightning, Chrisopher is brought back to life with a 'sea of electricity'.

Tricky cries, "Damn Chris, Damn! My man! You've returned". Chris croaks, "Shut up already, damn...", and rising from the table, takes his symbol guitar in his hand and groans, "I'm gonna kick me some Isaac Sharon ass." Then he shambles off for Nice, France (I don't know how he'll get there... maybe on a creaky old steamer boat, like in King Kong!).

But lo! Frustrated by a life of celibacy, the now-aged Mary Sharon has turned to a life of science as well, and has learned of the evil undead Christopher coming to lay the spooky smack down on her father. Does Dr. Mary Sharon destroy the abomination, cutting short its plan to murder a father that she, herself hates? Does she surrender to true love, justice, and the sight of Chris's reanimated butt in those sexy outfits?? Does Tricky allow her to take either course, or does he murder her first, so that he can once again have Christopher all to himself???

THRILLS!!!

@WaterInYourBath --- I'm not so sure about him being in Sweeney Todd. It's too dark for P and I don't think he could get the rage/anger/insanity that George Hearn/Johnny Depp were able to convey.

I would love to see Prince cameo in a movie as a silly/unexpected character, like Tom Cruise did in that recent movie I can't remember the title of, and like Eddie Murphy did in several of his movies, using makeup to look like a completely different person.

confuse Wow. It's too dark for one of the darkest, most mysterious images in music history. Guess I've given him too much credit. lol

I guess I just don't see how Prince is dark in the first place. I definitely couldn't see him singing about cutting up bodies and making meat pies.

I would also like to add to this.
When Christopher boards the creaky and rickety steamboat to return to France, that should cue the song "Dead On It". For instance the part where he sings, "shall we go back? lets go."

This would also be the perfect opprotunity to properly feature the "wooden leg" walk, and have the reanimated zombiesque Christopher walk this way throughout the entire film.

Despite the hatred for Grafitti Bridge and the misguided indifference to Under the Cherry Moon, I have always wanted to see another movie from Prince. Especially since he has grown and become even more brilliant since 1990. What would a Prince movie be like today?

I would settle for Prince doing a role in someone else's movie. I wonder if he gets offers.

Wasn't there "The Official Sequel To Purple Rain (...Again)" rumour kicking about? Like he said he was going to do that relatively soon. Or someone said he said

As I said above, a movie directed by Tarantino , co-starring Sylvester Stallone and Prince NOT playing himself again would be great. I really think he´s a decent actor if he puts his heart into it. He´s good at imitating people and he´s got a weird sense of humor.
I´d love to see him as a psychologist, a killer or maybe even a cop or a doctor. lol

Tarantino is too racist and violent for Prince to be involved with - thankfully. Now Prince in a Spike Lee film would be gold (Lee directed one of Prince's videos for "Money Dont Matter"). It would be cool to see him play something different from himself - an ordinary person.

How well does Prince take direction from other people? How long would Spikes friendship with Prince last when he started to "strongly disagree" with Prince's artistic vision?
I hate the fact that Graffiti Bridge is Prince's last movie and that his acting career ended on such a down note. However I don't know who Prince could be directed by where he took orders. Salma? I just don't know. Prince has such an unusual personality that he'd be perfect for a Tim Burton film IMO.

Graffiti Bridge and UTCM, in my opinion, weren't terrible because Prince can't act, but because the audience couldn't relate to or understand the 'plight' of the protagonists in the story. (yes, I think UTCM was terrible, even though parts of it was entertaining).

I could relate to "Under The Cherry Moon" because he was a whore. lol

As for Prince making another movie today, it would be horrible. It would probably be much worse than "Grashitty Bridge". Prince's head is so far gone in his religion now it would probably be some film with a loony religious message about how the world should be and how it is worshipping wrong.

I feel the same way about Prince being silly. I can't see how he would be believable in a modern comedy film unless it's a random quick cameo. But while watching "Sweeny Todd", I could see his face doing something serious/cold like this:

It's more the look of the character in the musical than the fact Sweeny Todd was a murderer. Todd reminded me of the Batman era in particular, when Prince's image was indeed blatantly "dark" (ironically, I guess, because of his involvement with a Tim Burton production). shrug I don't know. lol

hmmm well,he did take direction from Albert Magnoli, the director of 'Purple Rain' wink

and yes,it's sad that 'GB' is his last movie.Prince was hoping that it would be the beginning of the second phase of his acting career. He had a few other movies that he wanted to make in the 90s..

The Robert Johnson Story---in which Prince would play the legendary blues artist
The Dark Side Of The Moon---a documentary of Prince's career
The Dawn---described as a street-oriented sequel to Graffiti Bridge.

but after 'GB' flopped,he had to settle for making video albums like 'Three Chains O Gold' and 'The Undertaker'.

This recording was made in a continuous single live-in-the-studio pass in collaboration with NPG drummer Michael Bland and bassist Sonny T. Prince originally intended to give this live CD away free with 1,000 copies of Guitar Player magazine in 1994 (uploading an original The Undertaker CD to iTunes, shows the year 1995 as the year the CD was "released"), but he was reportedly barred by Warner Bros. from doing so. Copies were leaked and bootlegged. The songs were guitar-heavy versions of rock and blues numbers, including a cover of The Rolling Stones' "Honky Tonk Women" and new recording of "Bambi" (originally from 1979's Prince). The title track was a cover of a song previously given to Mavis Staples, while "The Ride", "Zannalee", and "Dolphin" would all be re-recorded future releases. A video recording of the performance is in circulation with small edits throughout the performance and "Dolphin" replaced by the official video of the song from The Gold Experience.

Track listing

1. "The Ride" – 10:54
2. "Poor Goo" – 4:26
3. "Honky Tonk Women" – 3:00
4. "Bambi" – 4:49
5. "The Undertaker" – 9:50
6. "Dolphin" – 3:40

There probably is no god but "please god no!".

He's a shit actor and no respectable director would ruin his reputation by enlisting him. Seriously he's not as good as Tom Cruise or Keanu Reeves and we all know how unbelievably shit they are smile
