Truly this is the worst thread ever.

Up next, Jughead is better than Erotic City

There is not nearly enough love for this Prince era and I can't fathom why!The album is a classic with songs like Thieves In The Temple,Still Would Stand All Time,The Question Of You and Joy In Repetition.How can people not dig it?The movie was far better than Purple Rain in my opinion although given the chance I would pick UTCM over PR anyday of the week.The cast even featured a young Tevin Campbell!The movie featured Prince in his all time sexy mode with his hair grown out along with him being in one of the most creative periods in his entire career!What is not to love people?There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of pictures taken of him during this time either sadly enough.

With that said show your love for this era or at least explain why you hate it!

There are some great songs on the album, but the album was cobbled together using some very good older songs, and it really sounds that way. I listened to the album recently and think it's brilliant, but it already sounded old when it came out.

The movie is the best excuse for diggin out my eyes with biros that Prince has ever given me. It was a fail in every way possible.

And although many like the look he had then, for me it was his worst image change. The tour was also pretty dull compared to what had preceeded it.

I just bought the album on vinyl the other day because of my recent love for the album. It took me awhile to realize that this is a dope album. So many good songs on this record. The last part of "We Can Funk" when he start talkin about turnin he candle of is awesome because of all the dope layers of vocals & he's hittin some crazy notes! I feel now that I really listened to this album, its one of my faves. Much love for G. Bridge!!

I am a more recent fan I guess since I started to really dig him and start looking into him around the release of 3121 but I had already loved his more popular radio songs for years when I was a little kid.I guess I am just partial to his later material.

As for the movie I can understand why people didn't like it because it really was out there but I think that is what makes Prince Prince.The man has no fear of failing and won't change just because something he does is not popular at the time and I think in the long run that will make his musical catalogue a really treasure to future generations of fans because there will be a little something for everyone regardless of their musical tastes or backgrounds.

People dont like it because the script was bad, the acting was bad, the sets were bad, mostly everything about it was nasty.....except the music.

I agree....'Graffiti Bridge' is a terrible movie.The storyline is ridiculous.The Kid and Morris Day (grown men) fighting over control of a nightclub in a foggy city that looks plastic and fake? Even the musical performances aren't that exciting,except for "Elephants and Flowers".Some of the 'serious' scenes are unintentionally hilarious.The movie is really just a collection of mediocre music videos,strung together by a weak plot and silly dialogue.

I think the soundtrack is okay.There are three or four songs that I really like: "Thieves In The Temple","We Can Funk","Can't Stop This Feeling I Got" and (sometimes) "Elephants and Flowers".

The other songs aren't terrible,just not very exciting

first of all i gotta commend you for stating your opionion knowing that most ppl here would disagree with you lol. My opinion is i didn't like the movie for the most part, it was cheesy, however the soundtrack was GREAT! Purple rains soundtrack was great as well but it got played to DEATH. I honestly think that UTCM was the best movie and purple rain and sott were pretty much equal. But we all like what we like, and just throwing this out there, the song purple rain has to be one of my least favorite prince songs.

Lovesexy is unlistenable for me.Out of everything Prince has ever done I can honestly say that I HATE that album with a passion.I really tried to love it too or at least find it palatable but even after a few years I still don't dig lovesexy and it seems like such a sin too since pretty much everyone has it on their favorites list.

I am going to go out on a limb here and say that I LOVE the title track!!
