Lovesexy Tour Vs. Parade Tour?? Which tour did you like the best

Lovesexy Tour just for the polka dot suit alone.

Parade for SURE. Lovesexy was one hell of a show, and a sentimental fave since it was my first Prince show, but nothing matches the sheer charismatic brilliance of Prince during Parade. Back then, he looked so happy to be doing his thing...like he was on top of the world.
And PS - he smashed it with only a fraction of the Lovesexy tour budget. Now that's a pro. [Edited 5/7/10 13:06pm]

I did not attend either. But from what i have seen on video and heard from concert recordings i would have to go with the 'Parade' tour. Despite the big band feel of the final Revolution line up, i just feel that the 'Parade' tour was a lot less complicated and had less gimmicks to distract the viewer.

Love the polka dot suit. But the Parade tour had the yellow suit. Decisions...decisions... We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Lovesexy was so huge and extravagant but very calculated and choreographed...but Parade was pretty loose in terms of being able to stretch out musically but the sets and outfits were ok. Since LS was my first P concert, I have to say that one. Christian Zombie Vampires

Parade all the way baby. Lovesexy was a great tour but the loose, playfulness of the Parade shows were contagious. I was 2 young 2 attend (though my dad went 2 the June 7 1986 birthday show here in Detroit) but from the bootlegs I've seen and heard,Prince is genuinely having a good time and U have as much fun watching/listening. And his sense of humor was in full swing! If U haven't, track down the 3/3/86 Minneapolis 1st Avenue warm up show on cd or dvd, and also the May 1986 San Fransisco Hit N Run show. My 2 favorite Parade concerts!

From what I've seen (I'm 23 so relatively little, I suppose), I would have to say Lovesexy. As much as I love the Parade Tour, he played very little instrumentation on that tour. And don't forget, he played 'Alphabet St.' as it was meant to be on the Lovesexy tour.

Lovesexy in LA Nov 88 was my first Prince show and it rocked my 14 year old world, but...
Parade, no doubt. I have three boots on video, six on CD, and there is not doubt that Prince was never happier than on this tour. It's kind of sad, really. She has robes and she has monkeys, lazy diamond studded flunkies....

Prince played lots of 'instrumentation' on the Parade tour.

I attended the Lovesexy tour, I wish i had attended Parade. From the clips of Parade i think i would have to go with Parade hands down.
I hated the in-the round format for Lovesexy. You only got glimpses of Prince when he walked around to your side, unless you had center seats. while the Parade tour sounds really big, the Lovesexy tour had a canned hastily pre-programed Casio feel to it somehow, [Edited 5/8/10 9:12am]

didn't attend either, but from the shows I've heard, I don't really care for either. Lovesexy is completely overblown and he disappeared up his own arse with the Sex half/God half thing. I'm not really a fan of him having people who are specifically hired to dance in his shows. Or him doing extensive and tight choreography. Parade, on the other hand, sounds like one long megamix of songs done in the Parade style (which is fine for the album, but doesn't wow me in its live incarnation) with only a handful of songs given full room to breathe.

Lovesexy Tour. He was at his best and it was way funky!

Parade definately since Lovesexy was way too complicated and like watching a video...
but both can only stand in the shadow of ONA though, which I more and more start to see as his best tour EVER
